I just spent all of last week listening to this board tell me how sorry LSU was. Not entirely sure that was the case.

And Troy beat LSU. And South Alabama beat Troy. We can play the transitive property game all night or we can acknowledge that each game is its own entity.

Had a feeling you were going that route. I will kindly disagree— lsu is a talented team, but also very poorly coached (sound familiar?) and witha crappy Qb.

You are better than this. Everyone knows that. I believe last week's version of the transitive game was that LSU lost to Troy and must be terrible. The very point of these posts is to help you narrow thinkers to broaden your perspective.

It's not getting worked up over one or two drives. There was a show of preparedness early in the game that people could project to the rest of the game.

Babers has out performed in all 3 of his head coaching jobs. At some point it's a pattern.

Syracuse was a dead football program for 10 plus years. He now has a better win (maybe 2) at Syracuse than Florida has had since January 8, 2009 (could maybe argue October 10, 2009 @ LSU).

But, while fun to watch, I'm mostly depressed as we are still stuck with Mac for another 1.5 putrid years - I really hope I'm wrong but we'd need to really tank to get rid of the sockless doufus this year.

Also: Babers has 5 championships in 6 full seasons as a head coach. We'll likely pass on him for another year of Mac - who has zero championships as a head coach.

Babers personality would also recruit well in florida.

I'm pouring another bourbon now.

Law, you can accept anything with equanimity as long as (1) it's not true, and (2) only threatens a belief in which you are confident. When you are threatened in an area you are anxious about or know yourself to be vulnerable, you respond with a dislike. Do you fail to see that you expose yourself in doing so? UF thrives with a big, charismatic personality that has some real presence. Mac's never been that guy and never will. So, we wait. The only question is how long. Gators supporting Mac or hesitating to point out reality only extend our purgatory.

Excellent synopsis of a good portion of the fan base. I am not diminishing Syracuse's game, Cal's game, etc., but history shows one game does not make a career. And I am extremely appreciative of how some liked how Syracuse looked prepared and the direction of that program. That is definitely something we do not have. I know that Butters blows and I want him gone yesterday, but I want a Head Football coach. I don;t care where his expertise lies (offense, defense, special teams, water cooler), I want a head coach. I know our offense sux, has sucked for years and will continue to suck, but we also suck in other areas such as game management, etc. etc. That is why I want a head coach. I am just saying be careful what you wish for. a lot of this fan base seems to think football is offense only, but I can name you plenty of head coaches who also cut their teeth on the other side of the ball, but yet they made excellent head coaches and understand all phases!

LSU is not good team I agree with you. Have a load of good, young talented players but you shouldn't lose at home to a Danny Etling at QB or Ed Ogre at head coach. A really bad loss for Mac imo.
