The AD though being political about it and not outright saying it sure let it be known they didn't care for McElwain even besides the wins and losses.

Part of being an AD is learning the art of the white lie. There most certainly will be contact through back channels. Does that interfere with a coach's season? No. Does it infer waiting until the end of the season to talk to the coach? Are you kidding me? No one does that.

Yes as I said, you can also talk to their friends and non-football associates if you actually have such contacts.

Please tell me he isn't going to wait until the season is over. Are recruits just supposed to hope the new coach fits their style? I mean, come on. I get waiting until the season is over is the way it has always been done. But with the early signing period, that is stupid to do now.

I thought it was a great press conference. Observations:

1. He was professional when discussing Mac as he should be. No overt criticism just move on.
2. "Fun", he get's it.
3. He worked the press pool on rumors. Good move.
4. I like his emphasis on making it exciting for players, staff, and fans.
5. Based on his comments of "evaluating as you go" and Mac's demeanor this year, this has been in the works for some time. Monday was probably the last straw.

He said it wasn’t just about the wins and losses. I’m sure it had to do with his press conferences, his general off-the-wall comments, and his constant swipes administration and the Fanbase.

Mutually agreed upon. Mutual as in, Mac, do you prefer Bekins or Penske? Mac didn't resign, he was told he wasn't being brought back for Missouri. They must have something on him in terms of the contract or there wouldn't be negotiations continuing after a so-called settlement had been reached.

Absolutely nailed that press conference. Zero backdown, almost scoffed at the notion of this being a less than awesome job. Took the high road on Mac but didn't embellish(which says he thought he was a tool too). Clearly knows that 14-10 every week isn't fun for anyone. And didn't allow himself to be backed into any corner, though the "not while their season is going on" will undoubtedly be brought up once a hire is made. All in all, great performance and gave me peace of mind that we are in good hands.

My only nitpick is the "Mondee" comment. If I were president, I may make that a felony.
