Dooley lost it in the 90s. He has no ability to hide it anymore.

He did. Front Butt (and the Patriots) run a spread offense. It just isn't an option spread.

That's why it sucked. And why Chimp's does still today.

Being awful and wanting to go back to being beyond mediocre is such a Pat Dooley move. He'd turn down power ball winnings for one of those gold foil chocolate coins

Another guy that shouldn't have been hired here. Foley was the master at finding horrible football coaches.

Do you vividly remember Creyer and Mullins in a 2 back set? They did it often. Doesn't make it not a spread. Is the Patriots spread different from most colleges'? Yes.

It isn't "West Coast" (whether Air Coryellish or Walshish) at all.

Concepts blur somewhat, but Weis is one of the father's of the Patriots spread.

Since he did not fire him why bother. Now I do regret that management in both cases did not insist on staff improvements that had a good chance of success. Champ is doing better at SC, so he might have grown here, but probably not.

I don't have the inside on this one, but, I am under the belief that Foley screwed Muschamp over from the get-go by forcing Charlie Cheeseburger as the OC. Chump never recovered from it and was stubborn as hell to fix the O after getting rid of him. I think Chump will make a successful HC somewhere in the future but he just got too much UGA stench on him to have made it in G'ville. Much respect for the D he created at UF but it really magnifies the O problems he had as well. Those were Natty Champ level defenses we had yet our offenses were so bad they were wasted. Butters lived off his defense for his first 2 seasons and acts as if SEC East Champions means something.

But back to the original point ... F@ck Foley.

It's easy to forget how bad we were under Muschamp because Butters was worse. We went 4-8 and lost to Georgia Southern at home. What else needs to be said?

Also, since the Chimp never recruited offensive lineman, our offense would have NEVER been good had you given him 200 years on the job and any OC he wanted.

Not just lost to Georgia Southern (Div 1AA) but they did it without even completing a pass...not 1 fvking

The Chimp dreamed of Alabama smash-mouth offense....yet didn't believe in the OL position. The guy was mentally ill and I'm glad he's gone.

I regret Fooley was an idiot during this period. He let/watched Meyer leave the program as a pile of :kiffin:, hired Muschamp who cleaned up the :kiffin: but left it like :couch: and hired a man who forced you to :puke:and then leave the room because the program looked like a :poop: caused a:trainwreck: every Saturday.

I don't think Dooley ever met a failed ex-Gator coach he didn't like. But he really had a thing for Muschamp.
