People were expecting them to return to GVille with Chip like he was a carryon.....sorry but if you get hired the last thing someone is going to do is hop on a plane Sunday night and get here at 2am

I’m seeing contradicting tweets and backpedaling tweets, followed by several posts here that indicate fans are assuming every freakin tweet is the gospel truth... including preemptive “SS is screwing up the deal” posts to prepare for the onslaught that will follow if CK doesn’t sign.
1. We don’t truly know the facts behind what’s really taken place so far. I have no clue if SS is a genius or if he’s bumbling through this. Neither do any of you, regardless of what the son of a lawyer or other “reliable source” says to a friend of a friend of an old college roommate.
2. If foley were still the AD, CK would NEVER have gotten the phone call. Period.
3. If SS didn’t take the time to vet CK and we ended up on probation in 5 years, y’all would freak out that SS rushed the hiring process.
If CK doesn’t sign, at least give SS some credit for showing some
to go after a big name and doing it the right way, to the best of his ability.

Has any of these UCLA rumors been confirmed?
I highly doubt that there's any merit to any of them. Everyone's panicking without checking the validity of the story. Whether you're intending to sign a deal or not, I find it extremely bizarre that our leadership would fly to meet with Kelly without any of his representation present. This has all the signs of a classic negotiating ploy.
I doubt he's introduced at a PC this morning, but I also doubt that it is a done deal to UCLA.

From what I've read elsewhere from some very knowledgeable and respected people this thing is done...I would not be shocked 1 bit if Dooley and Andreau are putting out exactly what the UAA wants them to put out. That being said i also would not be shocked if it doesn't get announced until after fsu out of respect for the current staff. Though they did move the Shannon press conference up a half hour so who knows they may announce something today

I appreciate your passion....and I hope you're right. I (as a UF grad) get the "we are still Florida!!!" However, outside of UF what does that mean? Because "we are still Florida" landed us Ron Zook, Will Muschamp, and Butters. Three coaches who were NOT our top choice to take the job. If "we are still Florida"....then that could be bad!
We need "we are the NEW Florida" (leave out the "still"). We need to prove that we are NOT "still" Florida. That Florida would go cheap and hire a bum, hire a bum assistant coaching staff, and leave the facilities as is. We need to rest of the SEC and the rest of the nation to know that we are NOT "still" Florida! We are the NEW Florida! We have changed! We are not being cheap anymore! We are willing to pay big bucks to succeed! We are willing to pay for a top notch assistant coaching staff! We are will to pay top dollar to build THE BEST facilities in college football! "We are still Florida!" got us where we are right now....that's not a good thing. The NEW Florida should be what we're trying to project to the rest of the country....
