Not trying to interject into your and divits pissing contest....but I totally agree w/ you on those points I bolded.
If you go over to swampgas those f*ckers think Foley walks on water and has done a job that no other AD on earth could possibly pull off.
I've point out for years how our AD's job is pretty much auto-pilot (the way Foley ran it: paying top dollar for non-revenue sports coaches, building non-revenue facilities (because they cost nowhere near what football and basketball facilities tend to cost), and living off his past successes). Schools out west, specifically the PAC12 have nearly double the number of sports UF has. Schools in the B10 and ACC have more sports (such as men's soccer, men's lacrosse, field hockey, wrestling, men's volleyball, to name a few). UF has 19 total sports (only 8 of which are men's sports). How hard is that? Each sport has an "Assistant AD for - insert the sport", so they handle all the admin and logistics. The UF AD is literally a fundraiser and glad-hander.
I haven't commented in this thread, except to start the OP. But I think Stricklin made a half-hearted effort to land both Kelly and Frost...and when things didn't go well he panicked and went after his fall-back plan vs going after another coach. I'm not anti-Mullen by any means - hell, we've done the Saban-assistant thing twice now, let's try the Urban-assistant thing now. But I think it was a bit of a lazy/easy hire for him.....and I think he overpaid (Mullen was making $4.5 million at MSU. He would have gladly taken $5mil, imo).
