Don't make me ban you for being insulting. I know that points win games, asshat.

However, I personally judge offenses in yards gained, not points scored. Points can be scored in all kinds of ways that don't reflect moving the ball up and down the field.

Swonkey has diplomockit immunity.

After he went ballistic that I didn’t include the time of the Spring Game when I started the game thread, he never returned. I guess that’s what finally sent him over the edge.

I bet if you checked this site's bandwidth usage has since dropped about 20%. That boy is wordy.

I'm mildly surprised at the poll results. An improvement of 75 yards a game moves us into the 50's. You turds don't think we can improve a lousy 75 yards a game from that absolute dumpster fire last year?

Butters 'N Nuss are gone, you know.

I need to see it first. I’ve learned recently (last 7 or 8 years) that saying and doing don’t mean shyt.

And I’m stunned to realize the Gators has that many yards per game.

If Franks starts all 12 games I'll say somewhere in the 90's.
If Trask starts all 12 games I'll say somewhere in the 70's.
If what I think happens and Emory becomes the starter around game 7 or 8 I'll go with somewhere in the 60's.

With Emory at QB and Jordan/Malik/Lemmons/Perine at running back we should have a respectable ground attack.

I voted 60-79, but I think that’s probably our ceiling. Yes, we have some nice pieces at the skill positions (WR and RB) but we still don’t have a QB and it appears our OL still sucks. This coaching staff has their work cut out for them.

I voted 80 - 99. I would love to see more improvement, but with our O line and Franks possibly starting, I will believe it only when I see it.

Well that’s unfortunate.

But our horrible talent is left.

I voted 60-79...and that's because I'm hoping coaching will help our O line and QB issues. Our S&C program should be much improved, and I think that will help the O line and hopefully develop a strong running attack--we have the talent at the RB position. That should take some pressure of the QB and the rest is up to coaching and play calling.
My major concern is getting the ball out quickly with accuracy--decision making. We have no margin of error for turnovers if we're going to win games--no matter how many yards we accumulate.

I think we're going to have a better offense than quite a few of you seem to think.

We dropped 33 spots to 55th in 2005, Mullen's first season as OC here.

Leak was on both teams, C4 gone after '04.

I honestly think we'll struggle. Franks is bad enough, but as a read option guy? Pass.

I voted 40-59 - here's why: Better coaching and conditioning, plus a significant influx of talent in several key areas. The running backs are beyond solid, and the WRs are looking much stronger as well. The OL will also improve as a result of some new blood, especially if Heggie comes back at 100%. Whoever ends up starting at QB will have more talent surrounding him than anyone since TT left the building. If we can manage just fair to average QB play, the offense could be MUCH improved. A competent staff implementing a coherent offensive scheme, plus more talent / depth, equals at least 80-100 yards a game. I actually think something along the lines of 45-50 is very doable. Not pumping, just calling like I see it. As far as the past 9 years is concerned, the one person on the planet who we can't blame is DM.

Our schedule was 50 times harder in 2005.

Yeah, and Leak was 51 times better than Franks.

At this point, I really don't know other than knowing Franks is a horrible quarterback. It really doesn't matter how much better our receivers are if the guy consistently throws late into coverage, has defensive ends in his face and is an average runner at best from a standstill.

An understatement.

Franks will be fine. If Mullinz can't make either 4 star Qb serviceable, then he is the problem.

I think the recruiting services fell a little too in love with Franks' measurables. Would you rate him four stars in hindsight? I know I wouldn't.
