Rex should sue to get the Heisman Trophy that Eric Crouch stole from him.

Here are their stats
Crouch - 105 Cmp, 189 Att, 1510 Yds, 7 TD, 10 Int
Rex - 259 Cmp, 395 Att, 3896 Yds, 34 TD, 12 Int
Holy shyt! Crouch beat out Rexy with those numbers?! I didn't remember that. What a travesty! I know it's 2018, but that really pizzes me off!

His record at MSU is very comparable to Franklin’s at Vandy. MSU is generally a better program than Vandy, but the SECw has been far, far stronger than the SECe the last 9 years.
3 years vs 9 years not really comparable. Where were all the suitors for Mullenz after his 3rd year?

But if you want to get into the numbers vs ranked opponents, they both suck and are at the bottom of the list:

T7. JAMES FRANKLIN – PENN STATE – 3-15 (16.7%)

6 seasons as an FBS head coach (Vanderbilt 2011-13 and Penn State 2014-present). 2-7 vs. Top 25 at Penn State.

T7. DAN MULLEN – MISSISSIPPI STATE – 6-30 (16.7%)

8 seasons as an FBS head coach (Mississippi State 2009-present).

Anyone making a claim that Stoops is better than Mullen doesn't know football. Period!
I get that Mullen isn't a popular choice, but @itraz, put down the crack pipe. I don't want Jack sh!t from Kentucky.
Stoops is clearly bad, but the point about Mullen is many can see his scheme is flawed in that he can't win unless he has superior talent, and it appears he is unable to adapt or grow.

He got the golden ticket with this job and it was his chance to re-invent himself, to step back and be more of a CEO, hire a real OC, bring in (and keep) elite recruiters. Instead he just went the MSU East route, so to expect anything other than MSU results is simply wishful thinking.

At least Stoops is smart enough to realize he's not smart enough.

Not the best comparison since Nebraska was still a triple-option power team. Not saying there wasn’t a robbery, but passing stats aren’t the best indicator in this case

No system works without superior talent.

Again, why are we expecting Mullen to do the impossible? It would be different if he were like Scott Frost and not playing SEC teams every week. Then his system would matter more.

Doesn't matter how good you can coach at schools like Vandy, Kentucky, Miss St etc...

You'll always be less talented than your contemporaries.

You need to be at a place like Utah or Memphis or UCF, where you won't be over powered from a talent perspective against your opponents.

I'm confused. You would take the coach who's worse?

Stop comparing apples to oranges. The SECe has been the laughingstock of college football for quite some time. It's definitely not comparable what Mullen did in the WEST compared to what Stoops has done in the EAST.

What's the over/under on the number of players suspended for the opener?

I'm going with 5.5

Is this the thread where I would go to post practice updates?

So TIFWIW, but my best friend has a client that is a Bull Gator; the BG was allowed to attend the Sunday scrimmage and said that Trask was clearly the better QB. That day. Better command of the offense, better execution, said Franks was trying to force things.

I will now retire to my underground bunker in order to withstand the upcoming explosion.

I think many of us have come to the conclusion that Trask may actually be better than Franks. That being said, it really doesn't take much to be better than Franks.

He'd take the coach who's worse so they could fire him after one year and re-set the coaching search.

Let's see how Mullen does this year with some decent, not great, talent... and then we can decide who we want to trade him for... I mean the guy is talking the talk... let's see if he can score first before cutting him loose.

Crouch was a senior of a team that was playing for the national championship, Rex was a sophomore of a 2 loss team that should've been a no loss team playing for the championship. Many voters back then automatically wouldn't vote an underclassmen 1st for some reason. I'm sure Rex wasn't the 1st player penalized in the Heisman voting because he was an underclassmen.
