I desperately want to win this week. A win changes the entire feeling of the rest of the season.

A win would be great, but clearly unexpected. I'm not going to fall to the ground crying if we lose (unless we put an absolutely undisciplined shytshow of a performance out there - which I don't expect). To me this year was all about showing progress, showing some discipline, and coming out of games excited. I said I'd be happy with that and 8 wins this season...I had UK as a W, but had this game as a L. Nothing changes for me.

I agree...a win this week WOULD change the feeling of the season and the future..but I don't think opposite is true. A good showing, and continued progress, does the same thing IMO.

I'm with you. As long as each of our players get participation trophies at the conclusion of the game, then they are all winners.

I want to WIN.

I agree but does anyone else think the biggest concern of this game is getting pushed around like a shopping cart on both lines of scrimmage?

Want to see changes that well might occur:
1) Franks rifles 65% completions, all varieties of yardages.
2) Grimes, Cleveland, Jefferson drive MSU DBs nuts. Swain breaks loose again, 2 TDs.
3) The OL blocks correctly, usefully
4) Our DL disrupts most everything MSU tries to do.
5) UF RBs slash them to pieces with Pierce proving he's our go-to RB.
6) That's the game I'm looking for.

@Year2: Mississippi State's offensive tackles are vulnerable to quick edge rushers, a liability UF should be able to exploit.

You’re not asking for much.

After Rog’s dreamboat first half...
7.) Trask takes over the second half and lights it up.
8.) Scarlett wins back his first string RB job after ten consecutive blitz pickups.
9.) Krull becomes the next Gronk before our very eyes.
10.) Slaton goes back to OL, his more natural position. Dominates.

Anyone else got something they wanna add to the game day wish list? Ox promises us all a trophy.

Monday through Wednesday, I’m thinking ugh, we’re screwed. Day before game day?; it’s pumper time.

But, I don’t see us scoring the 30 plus points a lot are predicting in the other game thread absent abhoration level turnovers again in our favor. So, we’re going to have to shut down their offense. Since fitz isn’t a great passer, they can’t exploit our weakness at DB.

My biggest concern are memories from Penn St last year and the use of Saquon Barkley out of the backfield as a catcher. Reese is great in run D, but unless he got much faster while he was hurt, his pass D is atrocious. Morehead is a better coach than UT has. I expect they will try to match Reese up in tough spots against their RBs running deeper routs out of the backfield. We got killed on those last year and it fits Morehead’s scheme already.

Gators adjust though, Fitz can’t make the passes to the open RB’s, and Gators win a close, low scoring game.

It just sucks we wont get them in a bunch of 3 and 10 plus yard plays due to penalties like KY did. We are more likely to have 3rd and 3s or so and them using a TE to help run over the 240 lb. edge guys for a big running play.

You had better hope MSU wins (from your comments, part of me thinks you may be rooting for them), because if the Gators pull the upset, you're getting a vacation. The length of the vacation will depend on the margin of victory:

1-5 points: 1 week
6-10 points: 2 weeks
11-15 points: 1 month
16-20 points: 6 months
21-25 points: 1 year

I'm with you! This feels like one of those "program-changing" games. With a win, Coach Mullen gets to wash away most of that McElwain funk. I think our rivals will earnestly begin to quiver. I don't know... I'm feeling something BIG is about to happen Saturday. I think we're gonna tap the rest of the conference on the shoulder. But I'm a pioneer around here. I think more of this team and coaching staff than most. You guys will come around and see what's happening soon enough. We're gonna blast MSU! We're on the way up!

edit: I know someone will tell me how we never do good in Starkeville... yada-yada-yada.
I've been coaching for a while. And historical facts only matter to fans. I've never considered any of that during my preparations.
