Nothing against EJ, but if you think he can read a defense any better than Franks you are sorely mistaken. Cousin Eddie gave him very easy plays today and to his credit he did well. On his one pass which was a great throw it was the only throw he was going to make on that play. the one bad spot Cosuin Eddie put EJ in was costly even tho it was not a turnover. I am all for EJ playing but not burning his year.

And the one potentially great play was under thrown allowing the penalty. I also think that the receiver gave up on the throw on the flea flicker. It was not that over thrown. Now Franks made too many blunders, the turnovers and he had a receiver open late (TE after block) and threw the ball away. His brain does not work fast enough or correctly, and his running is only for wide open opportunities.

Franks and the team in general played very poorly. The defense was especially disappointing in missing assignments and allowing gash plays. On radio Mullen talked about the "MAs" on Nauta's multiple catches that set up the FG before half. Coaches also had a poor game. All in all we came up small in a big game. Look for a bounce back against Missouri. We will need a healthy Henderson against Locke. Still have a lot to play for and need to beat the Semi's.

It could have changed the MO, but for how long? It would have tied the game, but instead of "what if" let's look at what did happen.

1. Only down 10-7 with 2 turnovers committed and 50 seconds left in 1st half. What happened. Allowed 70 yard drive in 45 seconds. MO changer? maybe
2. Score on 1st drive of 2nd half to take the lead. What happened.? Gave up long drive before you could blink to surrender the lead right back. MO changer? You betcha.
3. Make FG to pull with 6 in early 4th Qu. Should have helped the MO. What happened.? Gave up a long drive that looked like UGA was taking candy from a baby.

So I get the what if, but the reality was we made stupid mistakes, were still squarely in the game, and could not control anything right in front of us. That was what changed the tone.

For all the bad our second half stop at our goal line was epic. The boys have fight. We just don't have the pieces yet.

Couple of thoughts:

1) Franks has a very, very high ceiling when considering physical attributes, but he'll never touch that ceiling.

2) I don't give two shyts about burning EJ's redshirt. We have two highly touted DTQB's coming in behind him. No reason to create a logjam because of Franks. Let's get him some packages each game and start developing him.

I’m guessing you’ve had about thirty to drink my friend . Franks was terrible today and I’ve absolutely had it with the bum . Having Emory take snaps is only going to continue . We have a pocket passer that can only complete bubbles , swing passes and the one strike downfield per game . The fact is we need more and Felipe’s sorry ass ain’t gonna cut it.
