After the game. For asking if we'll be ready for Bama.

I'm so tired of his schtick.

this is Mac's "midline" moment...

the telling sign of a coach who's in over his head. They don't know what to do so they lash out at anyone asking for answers. Last week it was the fans, this week it's the reporters.

F that guy, seriously, f him.

You certainly weren't ready for the suckholes. It's a fair and very valid question.

You don't belong in this league or at this institution.

Mac wants to act like Saban with reporters but doesn't have the record to get a pass like that on his mess.

His ego is awfully big for a guy who has two wins in his lifetime against teams with a pulse
I haven't liked him since his opening press conference where he said "I can win with my dog playing QB" I knew right then we had either just hired the next great one at UF or The guy who'll bury the program. Needless to say he isn't the next great one!

Someone needs to grow some balls and ask him about that winning with his dog statement. Bc he can't even win with players.

He's the classic loser Head coach. We've heard them before. They are indignant toward fans like they don't recognize stink when they smell it, over protect the players when production is low to everyone in the house but them and claims they know what they're doing but no improvement is seen during the course of seasons. Now, we have the issues of sub par recruiting which means he doesn't make an impression (or his Asst) in the homes.

The only way this gets fixed is with better coaching and better recruiting. Summers nord and Nuss will be here next year, and this springs class will glisten like a lump of coal.

He ain't changing anything and nothing will improve bc of it. He made that clear last week when he was acting as if that win against a team as offensively bad as us was vindication of his abysmal program development concept.

Mac does not have the skill set to coach at UF. Foley did not have the skill set to hire football coaches.

the end.

Follow along for live updates from Gators coach Jim McElwain’s postgame news conference:

  • “My hat’s off to what they’ve done here and what he’s built. That running back of their’s is pretty darn good now, about as good as I’ve ever seen — and I mean that in a lot of ways. Disappointed, but you know what, that’s why you go play the game. Go put yourself out there and give yourself an opportunity and we didn’t take advantage of it.”
  • “No, we had a pretty good plan in that first eight (plays) and just became stagnant. Give their defense credit. We couldn’t block them up front, we couldn’t protect, turnovers.”
  • McElwain doesn’t like question about how team will bounce back next week: “We’ll get home about 3 in the morning probably. I don’t know whether they’ll come back or not. It’s going to be a heck of a test. … Yeah, I’m concerned. These guys have been through a ton now and they played their tails off today and it hurts, but you know, as a competitor you tear off the rearview mirror and you go forward. Our team will be ready. I have no idea what kind of question that was, but to question that locker room right there and those players.”
  • Is FSU a model of what you want to get to, especially offensively: “Yeah, and we’ll get there. We’ll get there.”
It was a quick press conference.

To be honest, I think we are way ahead of schedule. Mac was left with what, two scholarship OLine with any experience? When he took over, how many of us thought this was a three year project just to be competitive. We've now won the East twice in two years. Is that good? Better than not, but not a huge obstacle. Has Mac done the best with what he's been dealt? Well no. Roster management has been reactive is his first two years, instead of proactive. He scrambled to put together a staff, and he did find a couple decent guys from the lower ranks. Dixon and Skipper are actually decent recruiters and appear to be good coaches. Shannon has been a good coach, but has not pulled in big names yet. However, he has brought in some good guys who were underrated. Rumph and Gray have been top notch replacements from the "original" staff. Nuss and Nord need to be gone. Summers is a good coach, but needs help recruiting. Our OLine is better. Our D looks better for next year than anyone really thought. There are positives.

Is he going to get us championships? I hope so, but it doesn't look good right now. There are only so many top notch coaches: Saban, Meyer, and Harbaugh come to mind. Peterson is good, but really who else is out there? Saban will be gone soon, and I hope that the rebuild is complete by then. Not being a pumper, just trying to look at the glass half full. The OLine hopefully will be better next year. I'm a Trask fan (mostly to piss Law off), but if Franks is better, play him. If LDR plays, we're F'd. The offense needs to click next year, and if it does, it will be an entertaining year. Not sold on Mac, but we are a far cry from Muschamp. Unfortunately, we are a far cry from Bama too.

Most reasonable post I've seen. Look we just played with half or less of ou team.

Cook is good, one step is all he needs. See how important the QB position is? Ours aren't even average but fsucks has a baller ready to run.
