Congrats Gator boys. But one more huge step to make. They need to swing it better against LSU. Nice day off tomorrow.

Baseball and softball both in the championship series in the same year. Has that ever been done? If only basketball could have made the Final Four, too. :banghead:

I don't think it has been done before. Making the world series in softball and baseball in the same year is rare too. UF and A & M both did it this year.

Hoops was up what 8 at the half in the elite 8 against South Carolina?

Hoping for the Gators to be clutch against LSU. They will need to be.

Nice job tonight. Faedo not as consistent but more than enough to get the job done. He's a competitor. Offense wasn't jaw-dropping, but was enough with the pitching. Our OF is about as slow as we've had in a while, but they are much better when the pitching dominates! Hope we do a lot of healing over Sunday.

Umpiring, to me, in this CWS has seemed very inconsistent behind the plate. The guy tonight wasn't too bad, but that clown last night was terrible. Not saying he beat us, but when he squeezed the zone on Kowar in the 3rd (I think), it definitely F'd him up. Of course, part of Kowar's development has to be the ability to turn the page and that deficit was exposed. The rest of the pitching wasn't good either, but I can't disagree with Sully's decision to go with the unknowns. Why pile up pitches on a better guy(s) that we will probably need to use later when it was obvious that we most likely weren't going to hit a bull in the @ss with a bass fiddle regardless of who was on the mound?

Fielding miscues along with Bell's F-up (did you see him drop the GD bomb afterward?) were pretty bad. Infield play shouldn't let this happen again, but a very unathletic OF is worrisome if our pitchers are giving the opponents pitches to line or elevate.

All SEC final is pretty cool and well-deserved. No news flash, but you gotta think it's going to come down to our pitching. If they can keep it close and we can sprinkle in just enough O, we got a good chance. Our young hurlers should have more confidence since we've seen this bunch and won a series with them. I like our chances.

Haters and Complainers COMPLETELY OWNED and DESTROYED tonight baby!! Wow what a year for this team. We were pretty much dead in the water midway through the SEC schedule and we turned it on and are now in the CWS Finals baby!! Let's hope we can get our bats going and actually win this thing this year!! Go Gators!!

Nice post Cover 2 but I disagree on the issue of playing LSU. At this point, considering the last 5 or so years, I'd prefer we be the underdogs rather than the favorites as judged by tourney seed. I would also prefer we face a team like OSU that we haven't seen before. Psychologically I think that would bode better for us. I don't want to have to "beat a team twice", especially a red hot LSU team. That's just my opinion. With that being said, GO GATORS...STOMP A MUDHOLE IN THOSE BATON ROUGE BASTARDS!!!

I got distracted and missed this game. See what happens when I don't watch them?

So just saw an interesting stat...

Florida's making their 3rd CWS Title Game appearance with 0 Titles.

LSU's making their 7th CWS Title Game appearance with 6 previous Titles.

When LSU get there, they win. They can't be perfect forever, right?

Kind of reminds me of our championship games against Ohio State in Football and Basketball in 2006. I liked the results that year.

Exception noted GA :)

Favorite, underdog...out of our hands at this point. We will be who we are going to be. I think LSU rising should give us a sense of needing to be at our best. The fact that we have beaten them should bolster our confidence. Again, I think our pitching will be the key. Haven't read anything yet on the possible starters other than Singer on Monday, but I've got to think that Kowar gets the nod for a game three (if there is one) since he will have four days rest. Thinking we see Tyler Dyson in game two since he didn't enter last night after warming up. Goal for our starters is seven innings (100-110 pitches or so). If we get that in two games, I believe we do the Doors thing...Break on Through to the Other Side! Gonna be fun and exciting to watch! Go Gators!
