Maybe we should choose the teams for the SECCG the same way we choose the teams for the playoffs. Forget about any clear path via win-and-advance. Lets form a committee to determine who the best teams are and let them play. I mean, who wants to see a 2 loss Auburn team in the game when a one loss Bama team is clearly better and they didn't lose to a crappy LSU team that only beat UF by a missed PAT.

Can't say it enough. Getting boat raced by a 7-5 team is disqualifying.
But getting punked by your arch rival in the last game of the year with everything on the line isn't? If a conference road blow out in the middle of the season to an average team is disqualifying, then go to the next team that actually won something instead of a team that collapsed with everything on the line.

I was surprised that they let Bama in, but if it is to be the best team based on an entire season they deserve to be in. I would rather expand the system, let champions in automatically and then a couple of deserving from the outside. Notra Lame would have to join a conference under those rules or play a much better schedule to be considered.

Losing to a top 5 team on the road =/= giving up 52 points and losing by 31 to a team that barely qualified for a bowl.

You can argue about bad losses vs. good losses until the end of time. My point is the only thing that should matter is who's left standing at the end of the year. I think Bama's loss to Auburn is worse that OSU's loss to Iowa (one was basically a playoff game, the other was just another midseason road game). You think otherwise. Nothing wrong with either, but they're both just opinions. So I say lets reward the team that held up a trophy yesterday instead of the team that was sitting home watching with the rest of us.

Are there anymore putrid fan bases than bama or bucknutz? By that I mean how they feel entitled. I couldn’t see how USC was given 0 looks, when their 2 losses were vs teams ranked in the top 10 sometime in the year & on the road. Not that I think they’d beat Bama but think they’d beat bucknutz.

I don't know why any Gator fan would want Bama to get into the playoff.

F Bama. I am so sick of Bama I could spit. They have become the quintessential self-licking ice cream cone and it sucks for everybody. They win damn near every game because they have so many good players. And they have so many good players because they win so many games. The cycle never ends. Let them sit at home and watch the playoffs this year. I won't shed a tear at all.

BTW the fact that the best team doesn't always win is the whole reason we like sports. Without that, there is no reason to even play the games. Lay out a path to a championship and win the games you have to win to advance. Don't get that done and you stay home, no matter how beautiful anybody thinks you are.
Until the wheel turns on Nick and his Bammeroid minions, the rest of the league will suffer.

Ridiculous that the Big 10 is not represented in the Playoffs when ithas 3 teams in the Top 10. I’m an SEC guy but why even have the Conference Championships? If you are going to go with Bama instead of Ohio State based on season record then they should have chosen UCF instead.

Iowa loss was in Nov. Two losses. 55-24. Nope.

I think the committee got it correct just based on the eye test. Interesting that the same thing that got OSU in last year (not a conf. champ) worked against them this year. Although i do not see Bama winning it, anything can happen, but if somehow Bama does win, I believe it will be the 2nd Nat. Champ. for Saban at Bama while not winning the conf. title ( other was rematch with LSU in Sugar Bowl).

I don't give two sh**ts about USC. I just think its ridiculous that Bama got in when they collapsed in their biggest game of the year. And yes, I stand by my comment that Bama's loss to Arburn was worse than Osu's loss to Iowa. That Iowa game was a classic conference road trap game the week after a great comeback win against PSU and the week before Michigan State. Meanwhile Bama had the Iron Bowl circled all year long knowing it was the game they had to win to get to Atlanta and they crapped the bed.
