I don't think Mullen has any intention of benching Franks anytime soon. The talk of Trask or Jones right now is a waste of time.
Unfortunately you could be right on intention. I hope you aren't. I don't think it is a waste of talk. There is a former head coach down the hall who knows how to blend in 2 QBs.

This interception thing is not new for Franks. It is in his nature. You do the best you can with what you have. Franks needed to beat UK to give him free reign at QB. He lost.

The kid couldn't throw a back shoulder pass to save his life, and the one he did throw was to #45 who of course dropped it.

Your post specifically mentioned Trask claiming he would have been sacked 6 times and that we are stuck with Franks. I am not worried about Trask's psyche.

Franks showed his lack of common sense again last night when he threw short passes when the other team had gone offsides and you should go for something big on those free plays. Trask appears to have more common sense than Franks. Give him a shot.

AGAIN, I was talking about the freshman's psyche as I clearly stated. But seriously, who gives a $h!t. Put the statue in. That'll fix it.

I can only think that this post by Law would set the Pumpers afire, so it made me think of the laundry list of excuses they are coming up with for what was witnessed in this game. i guess time and getting your type of players and establishing your culture is the sole reason why you send 12 guys onto the field coming out of a stoppage in play!!!!!! After a decade of brutal futility how is it possible that they continue to pump?
I'm your huckleberry.............Coaching aint gonna fix what aint there to fix. Both of our lines are not sec ready to play for a variety of reasons. Our LB's are non existent. QB play is maybe slightly better. We have some RBs but remember the line about our lines.
Coaching? You aint gonna fix this in a big hurry. We need some big ones that can move their feet and run and a QB.
Tonight it quickly became apparent we were playing not to lose and UK was playing to erase a little of 31 yrs of futility. Fck it and move on. Or pile on or sh#T more on our house fire. Still gonna be there cheering and hollering and supporting our guys and coaches until they aint our players and coaches............

Divit you quoted my post below and talked about how we are stuck with Franks and later acted as though I was talking about starting a freshman QB which I did not. You may have referred to someone else's post on the freshman QB. If Franks won last night I would agree with you on using primarily Franks but Franks lost and continued with prior bad behavior.

In the post you quoted I said:

"As I said earlier UF will need all 3 of these QBs. Franks showed last night that he still is having issues seeing the field as shown when he did not see a wide open Malik Davis in the end zone.

With the poor performance of the OL (especially Frederick Johnson at RG) I can see why Mullen felt he needed Franks's scrambling ability.

If the Offensive line problems creating running lanes continue then we have to have a QB who can see the field. Trask appears to see the field better than Franks and probably would have seen the wide open Malik Davis last night."

When I said we need all 3 of these QBs my intent would be to give Jones some packages like we did freshman Tebow. That gave Tebow some on the field experience that he could build on the next year (which was very successful). Trask was my primary focus to blend in ala Spurrier and Trask sees the field better than Franks and has a quicker release to get rid of the ball.

Now if Trask goes in and fails then you sit him. But the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. So I don't think we are stuck with Franks only at this point.

I don't see the doom and gloom that you guys are seeing.

I watched the game with a buddy of mine(FSU fan), and even he was impressed by the development of Franks. You act like losing to Kentucky is such a shock. Well it's not. You know as well as I do that we had no business winning last year. Talent wise, this is the SAME team. My eyes told me Franks was actually functioning. He's not a great QB by any stretch of the imagination, but I never felt that we were losing because of him. Jordan Scarlett is a joke, period. I would literally trade our OLine for any other in the country. Their weak and their not intelligent. No tight end to speak of.
DLine may very well be our worst position group. And that's saying something. LBs are non-existent. So much so that it's hard to breakdown what I saw. They were literally like ghosts. Cornerback may be our best position group, but they have zero willingness to tackle. And as for the safeties... reference above statement on LBs.

Guys, Mac left us in horrible shape when it comes to talent. But this team is watchable. I'm actually very optimistic. And I'm not an optimist by trade, lol.
Their getting better. I honestly feel this will be a different team by week 5.

It sucks losing. I get it. I felt that anger. And disappointment. I was sick to my stomach at the end. But there was a glimmer of hope. This offense has potential. It's not dysfunctional like Mac's was. It's just blatantly obvious that our talent level isn't up to par. And for the love of God, please, find a dynamic running back. None of these 3 are it. Time to see what you have in the young guys.
Give coach Mullen a break. He'll lose some more games also. I know it's cliche, but he truly needs time to put some blue chip players out there. This team just isn't very talented.

Franks is never, ever, going to beat you with his arm. To be fair, there are other people on offense that could help him by doing their jobs.

I think you nailed it. It's going to take more than a few months to fix everything wrong with this program. Sure, this was a surprising loss, but unexpected losses are inevitable, and it was inevitable that we'd lose to UK some day. I only hope the coaches and players learned a few things from the many failures yesterday.

A C, but I grade on the curve.

It was about what I expected, maybe a little worse. I know there will be these types of games. I was hoping they’d get their head out of their ass on defense and take Kentucky seriously. That did not happen until too late.

I was pleased with Franks performance. He actually surpassed my expectations. I expected a fumble and another interception. We moved the ball. Only one 3 and out. It’s nice to see our punter not leading the nation.

Coach could fix some things. The OL looked better under Butters, as hard as that is to fathom.

To upgrade the roster, you have to upgrade recruiting staff facilities and the coaches who do the recruiting. We havent.

That being said, the people responsible for hiring the people who hired Muskchump, McElstain and Mullinz havent changed.

The next hire will be just like the last three most likely.

If you think there is ever going to commit to winning, you are deluding yourselves.

What disease? We're already dead. Unfortunately, we fooled everyone into thinking we were alive and well by scheduling a Class 3A high school team for the opener.

Take a phucking pill. Mac destroyed the program. We knew it was going to take time. Some of you act like you've had your toy taken away.

Agree fully.

We are basically playing all freshmen and sophs with the development Butters did.

WR are watchable. Franks from where he was is much better, and I’d say he’ll continue to get better. Not so with Butters or Chump.

Why we’d think we’d be world class now and with CDM tells me more about the people...

Too bad Florida doesn’t have cliffs.

They werent even aware there is a problem. Mullinz says he thought the blocking was fine.
He didn’t say the blocking was fine. He implied the scheme/approach was fine. He wasn’t going to throw his players under the bus.

With all due respect, drink bleach.

Everyone knows you are a raging alcoholic. You are probably just too damn wasted to even understand how bad we suck. Probably passed out early in the evening like always.

Please face the music that football is on the way out. I agree the baseball stadium is a money loser. I’d be setting up World football or lacrosse.
