C2 is an intelligent fan and an astute observer. His takes are uniformly rational and well considered, but his perspective is consistently positive and Gator-centric as well. The good-natured wit he brings to his observations is also a blessed relief from the cynicism and self-aggrandizing snarkiness that seem to be the stock and trade of some on this board. No, all is not perfect, but anyone who can't, or won't, acknowledge the remarkable turnaround that is so obviously taking place in Gatorland is either being purposely obtuse or is serving some personal agenda that I personally don't give two shyts about. Keep up the good work C2 - you da man!

Fought harder than I have seen them fight in a while. Scarlet ran tougher than he ever has and kept the ball wrapped up. He was typically hit at the line and fought forward.

Franks is either lights out or lights off...but he is a tough Gator, no doubt.

C2 spot on everything on D. Would add the number of times Chauncey was positioning other db. Great communication. The young backs still scare me with soft coverages. Reese cleaning up the middle is great as our DT need the backup as they continue to progress. Starting to see a good combo of sideline speed vs run stoppers in the LB. still don’t want them in coverage.

      What a punter! Nuff said.

LSU has always had physical DB and they gave our reseivers fits. Most of our play calling was pretty damn good, I think the ones that we scratched our heads on, that Mulken would say my bad. Definitely have to play to Franks strengths and some of the first down throws (routes he struggled with) put us in a hole.

Still have weapons we need to better utilize on offense as DM adjusts his scheme.

One of the best Gator wins in a long time, straight out bare knuckle from the first play and a lot of yelling in my house last night.

      Go Gators

Absolutely. Burrow showed he couldn’t handle pressure. He is a stay in the pocket and wait for his receiver to get open QB. That last drive might have been different if their receiver didn’t drop the long pass that hit his hands at the sideline. We got lucky.

I don’t disagree with you often, but facepalm this entire post.

          In very short form:
          - none of us has any idea how the Franks int play was called or executed, where the breakdown may have been, etc. a receiver may have turned the wrong way. Who knows.
          - Franks on third and one is not a bad playcall.
-The prevent could have cost us the game. The kid was hitting the seam between our LBs and safeties beautifully. Giving up fourth and 19 is not okay. That next dropped pass saved our azzes.

I disagree with your assessment on the int. Frank's was hot as he released the ball causing the pass to sail high. The receiver was open underneath for the td. If Frank's had even an extra hundredth of a sec, the play would have been a td.

Depth. Our incredible lack of injuries (thanks Savage) other than Marco has it exposed Butters lack of depth in key areas.

I totally agree! What exactly does it take to earn some respect after taking a 4-7 team that was soft, broken with a losing culture and transforming them into the team we saw yesterday in less than a year? There are people on this board who apparently want us to suck so they have something to whine and complain about. For those in that camp, might I suggest a certain team a little farther north in the state? They seem to be tracking in a direction that looks to be more to your preferences.

Great write up (as always), Cover! Your write-ups are one of the premier highlights of my post game Sundays especially after a big win which is actually a thing again! Thank you for all the time you put in especially when trying to balance Dad duties at the same time. (I can totally relate, btw, since I had to miss the first half due to Dad day at my daughter's college sorority. Fortunately we were able to watch half 2 at her house so I had a very happy drive home regardless of the rain and late hour. )

:) If only I didn't have the school duties. My six of Blue Moon is still in the fridge!
Thanks Seabee. I think the LBs are a primary focus. Love what Reese is doing and Joseph is becoming, but got to have more quality bodies that might play early and be game changers. #40 for LSU is the kind of monster we need a few of. Next is OL in my opinion and there needs to be a threshold of quality and quantity consistently met. DL probably after that. Maintain the other positions.

@bayou gator ...can't like your post enough!

@cover2 - I think the reason Toney did not throw the ball was because the linemen were already down field because it was supposed to be a run play. At least that was brought up on the chat box by one of our members.

Also – I think V.Joseph Lead the team in tackles. And I believe he had 2 sacks. Phenomenal game by him.

Chauncey was spectacular. He was constantly shifting the defensive backfield into proper alignments based on the offensive alignments. Couple of his big run stops were directly attributed to that. He actually moved over the linebackers to snuff out the short pass and he cleaned up in the backfield.

Spot on about Vosean. Definitely should have been in the POTG mention. Watching him grow has been great to watch. His motor has never been a question so seeing him improve technically and fundamentally speaks we'll of I'm and the coaching he is receiving. He's definitely all in. Spot on with your points about Chauncey, too.

How much these guys have improved just by using the weight room has paid dividends. It's refreshing to see guys improve physically and actually be coached up. Great win yesterday and hopefully this is the sign that there are more to come.

It’s bizarre, lacks respect and demonstrates zero loyalty to our guys. Whats worse is none of these guys would call him that to his face. Not that they are the least bit afraid of him but because they would not act juvenile in public. Message boards bring out the worst in some.

Call a man by his name. My father taught me to stand up when I shook a mans hand. I can’t imagine what he would have done if I disrespected one by ridiculing his name. Whatever...to each his own.

Not to nitpick because that is a heads up play if so but what is the penalty for that?

5 yards and repeat the down? 10 yards? Loss of down?

Again not blaming him but just for sake of discussion because obviously 1st and 15 is better than 2nd and 14 but Toney probably makes that decision hoping to get back to the line of scrimmage and while under duress

Our community sprung up when the Gatorsports message board was shut down in the summer of 2014. We pride ourselves on offering Gator-biased, yet critical discussion among people of all different backgrounds. We are working every day to make sure our community is the best Gator message board you will find.
