And I hate to break it to all of you but we WERE insured , it's been reported on just about every site. We are out nothing for refunds or anything else. The only money being paid out is to Idaho and that was gone either way.

I will almost guarantee you we wont get no full refund from any insurance - they will probably negotiate some settlement. There are all kind of things the insurance company could argue against paying all that. It was also reported that there was an act of God out for that 1 million or so payment to Idaho but it looks like we will pay them. That act of God out would have been hard to prove 100% legally given the circumstances after 11 PM. Its probably best we canceled the game however.

Assuming insurance pays off you can bet premiums go up. Hell just filing claim raises rates. Not a fan of more than one of these games a year anyway.

No man. We didn't play, so it's not a loss or a win. It's nothing but a weird record at the end of the year.....you're sensationalizing. It's ok to be upset, but I hope you've slept on it and realize this was the best outcome given the situation. I think it's smart to not give up the bye week before UGA. We'd be risking injury and depth for the sake of (hopefully) destroying a cupcake.

I know Willis, I was just havin' some fun and blowin' off some steam. I am more bent that we still have to wait a couple of days to play. I get very amped up for the season to start. I actually start my countdown once spring ball is over.

Meltdowns over silly things are hilarious. So we'll play one less boring game against a cupcake. Big deal.

Capt., you do know that this thread was only half azz serious, right ? I was mostly just funnin' about to pass time until our first game finally gets here.....I'm not really crazy.

No there really isn't all type of things to argue Fever, concerts , sporting events all type of things carry insurance for instances just like this. Every single major college and professional football game is covered by insurance, the university has specialist in insurance (like all schools) who negotiate. The insurance companies usually don't argue to much. As for the act of God nice try but nope, the rules and regs of the NCAA and SEC are taken into account, more than 1100 lightning strikes within 5-6 miles of the stadium and the torrential rain will be classified as thus, as I said they take the rules into account and the 8 mile lightning rule is not just college but the NFL norm also. These are things that both the school and the insurance co would take into account before they sign.

Sonoma, I think Fever would argue about nothing at all if given the chance.

And as I keep trying to pound through some thick skulls here is we NEEDED this game worse than any team in the country needed their 1st game.....we are behind at this point and it will take at least another week to catch up.
What's your point? Yeah we needed the game but it got cancelled...so what do you want them to do about it?

We get it. Everyone is anxious to get out from under the black cloud of last year, 2011, and the putrid offense of the last 4-5 years. But there was nothing to be done.
