Georgia: Defensive line coach Tray Scott’s contract is a 2-year deal worth $400,000 annually, with a $65,000 signing bonus, according to the AJC.
Arizona State: The school has opted not to extend Todd Graham’s contract by one year, as it has done annually in the past, according to AZCentral. Graham’s current contract has four years left. This is the first time Graham is under contract at ASU for less than five years. Graham is 39-26 at ASU, but coming off two straight losing seasons. His buyout if ASU makes a change 100 percent of the remainder of his annual salary, which is currently $3.2 million. AD Ray Anderson said the contract wasn't rolled over "because it didn't need to be rolled over."
LSU’s pressure on other in-state schools hosting satellite camps has struck again.
Several out-of-state schools have seen satellite camps at Louisiana schools canceled in part due to political pressure from LSU on in-state schools. The most recent involves Hal Mumme at Belhaven, which was set to hold a camp this week at a high school and include Texas, Houston and others.
After Sports Illustrated wrote about the camp and the pressure, the camp was canceled. SI’s Pete Thamel reported Mumme was unhappy with Ed Orgeron, and the cancelation costs Belhaven $5,000. It’s the third satellite camp in Louisiana involving Texas that has been canceled in recent weeks.
Michigan State has lost seven projected starters this offseason, and could lose another.
A combination of legal issues, academic issues and coaching decisions have seen an exodus from East Lansing, coming off a 3-9 season. The school has issued support for Mark Dantonio in wake of sexual assault charges against four now-former players. Athletic director Mark Hollis says he always focuses on three areas when evaluating a program: athletic success, academic success and social behavior.
"2016 was a difficult year in all three," Hollis told MLive.com. "My expectations are that it will not continue. … (Dantonio has) done it before and I have confidence he can do it again.”
