Wilson - Stars woody harrelson and is one of those you see a preview for on the dvd and it looks good. Anyway hes mid-life guy with no connection because he's brutally honest. Tracks down his ex-wife who left him to be a hooker and finds out he's got a daughter she gave up for adoption. He then tracks the girl down and they try to be part of her life. Goes from funny first half to dramatic second half. 6/10

XXX: The Return of Xander Cage - Vin diesel is back to do a bunch more Bmx spy stuff. Luckily those obsurd parts are left out. They just put new obsurd stuff in since he's superman. Everyone from the previous two come back, even if just for a moment including ICE Cube. basically a bad guy makes a weapon and he's the only person in the world that can get it back. Good guys turn bad and bad guys turn good, with the usual can the government people be trusted or are they evil. The good - stunts, explosions, hot women, you know the guy stuff. The bad - the cast, the acting, the script, the story, etc. If you like the stuff listed under good every now and then and don't mind the latter being left out then this is for you. Insert Jason Statham into Diesels role and nothing changes. Seems like they are setting up a mission impossible type franchise 5/10

Mothers (first gen) were infected while pregnant.

One of the first rules of zombie movies is that they can make their own rules.

The remake of Dawn of the Dead, had a expected mother get bit, and her and her offspring were zombies.

The Babysitter (Netflix) - A kid who's around 12 still gets babysat by this smoking hot high school girl. They always have a great time together and she's like his big sister. One night he gets up to see what she does while hes asleep. Her and some friends are playing spin the bottle, and while he's thinking oh yeah, they murder one of the people. From there the movie is him trying to elude and outwit the high school kids after him.

I'll admit that I didn't have a lot of high hopes for this one. Netflix has been hit or miss on its original movies lately, but this one delivers. Not going to win oscars, but is a solid horror comedy which can be hard to pull off. The teen cast is pretty fresh as I haven't seen them in much. the only actors I know were his parents, but don't know them by name. The gore is also kept to a minimum and more along the lines of Kill bill 1 rather than a torture porn movie like saw. 6.5/10

    1922 <Netflix>

Written by Stephen King, the story follows a man in the year 1922 who believes firmly the two prides a man has is his land and his son. It had to have been a short story someone stretched into a film. Well, most of his land came from his wife who wants to sell and head to the big city. So, to prevent that, he convinces his son to kill her with him. The bulk of the film focuses on his torment as she visits him and tells of how their son went wrong following that event and died after committing more misdeeds. All in all, this is extremely slow and plodding, as we listen to the narration of the father. The closest we get to any kind of King effect is her ghost, a bunch of rats, and eventually the son's ghost coming back - none of which is particularly gruesome, eerie, or scary in the slightest. No boobs, just rats and dull narration. 3/10, not even recommended for die hard King fans.

    Patient Seven (2016) <Netflix>

Horror anthology of six mental patients and what they are in for, as they recount their misdeeds with their doctor (Michael Ironside). Doctor does well throughout the film, though you can tell he's not 'normal' in how he pushes buttons on the patients to make them face their issues. The segments themselves are hit or miss. The second one, "The Body" is absolutely delicious with dark humor and a good storyline - that one alone made it worth the watch (it is the longest segment, but I wish it were longer). The others are sometimes really short, but each wraps up it's story fairly quick. There are some oddities in the film, as one patient comes in only speaking a Scandinavian language, but the doctor understands it all and responds in English (which the patient understands and responds to)...however, these oddities generally tie together with the wrap around and ending. You know from the beginning who Patient Seven will be, though they never state it. However, in the final wrap up we see how that patient connects with the other stories. Some of the shorter segments make you wonder if it was too short to deliver something....but the film was constructed by different writers/actors/etc so that incongruous mish-mash somewhat makes sense, and they each do deliver (though you may need to read other, more in depth, reviews to fully appreciate them). No boobs, some blood, segments call in demons, ghosts, vampires, and the like so it is decent if bumpy. 4/10 only because it wouldn't be my first choice for a horror film, but still a decent spend of time - and if you are short on time, try to catch "The Body" in the second patient's story.

John Wick: Chapter 2. Maybe the most gratuitous body count in movie history. It was basically 90 minutes of the Crazy 88 scene from Kill Bill.

Batman VS two-face - another animated DC movie. This is Adam West’s last role and is centered in the same universe as his cartoon. If they are still alive they were back doing their voices. As usual it has a campy tone of him and robin trying to stop the villains in obserd ways. It’s silly and campy like the show was. Shatter does a voice as well and they try to do a cameo for a few newer villains. If you liked the old show or have younger kids not ready for the current Batman portrayals this is a descent one for you. Nice tribute after credits to the “White Knight”. 5.5/10

Not a movie, but finished Stranger Things Season 2 last night on netflix. Absolutely fantastic and only a few things to complain about with it. these kids are really good actors and actresses. Unfortunately to talk about it would probably spoil things to much.

Thanks for not spoiling it. I absolutely LOVED season one, not sure how they could make more but I'm eager to see it.

I actually thought this season was better. The first season was great, but took me about 3 episodes to really get hooked. This one is pedal to the metal the whole way.

Just finished the first season of Ozark which wifey and I loved. Big Jason Bateman fan and it's setting Lake of the Ozarks is personal to me as i vacationed there my whole child hood and parents own a place there. Thought it was very good though again on a personal level i hated that they actually didn't film it there and filmed it in Georgia instead so it looks actually nothing like it minus a few aerial views of the actual lake.

War of the Planet of the Apes - Picks up years after the last one. They are still trying to find peace from the remaining humans, who are also at war with themselves. a new army guy (woody harrelson) is helbent on wiping them out. Caeser must choose between trying to remain peaceful or turning into what he hated in order for his tribe to survive. a few twists and turns as you go.

Lets start with the few bad things. Could have been a little shorter. Drug a little around the midway point.

The good. It is a shame if some of these guys don't get the recognition they deserve for their performances as the apes. Andy Serkis has become a really great actor. The score for the most part was perfect as well really affecting how the movie moved.

Should be the end of a trilogy that got better with each movie, but they are planning more. 7.5 out of 10 and only some monkey boobs if thats your thing.

Thor Ragnarok - this was fun. Set two years after age of ultron and Thor is searching the universe for infinity stones. He returns home to find things not right (keep an eye out for 3 big name cameos). He finds Loki and goes to look for his dad. A familiar avenger sets him on his way. An ancient evil is unleashed and he winds up on the junk planet led by Jeff goldblum. Hulk is there and they have to escape and save his home. You also lose some characters from these movies as well.

This felt a little more like a guardians movie than an avengers. Had good music and the score was great. A couple of the pieces made me think of stranger things. Has some good comedic timing and they all look to be having a lot of fun. Hokinson appears that way in his movies lately. Goldblums timing works as well. A few buddy cop like teamups.

Easily the best Thor movie. It answers from questions in other movies and sets up for the big team up next summer. No boobs but blanchett is smoking. 8/10

    Smokin' Aces (2006)

Came across the sequel, and said I should watch the original first. Watched it...realized I'd seen it already, but here's my take. Good cast of actors and characters, with a plot focused on a handful of assassination players all after the same guy looking to roll over on the mafia. Add in Ben Affleck killed early as a bail bondsman coming to collect the snitch, and you are off to a good start - the less Afleck, the better. Each of the killers gets enough of an intro to where you can appreciate their background and approach to the situation, and how their paths cross. Mix in Ryan Reynolds and Ray Liotta as FBI guys trying to get the guy so he can be a witness, and Andy Garcia as their FBI director, you have a decent set up. The story rolls well, and the dialogue makes several nice cuts from one person's statement rolling right into the next cut scene with other characters - shows decent writing. The wrap up at the end, however, goes a little deep and twisted, as if trying to be too cocky about 'you did't see this coming' to the point of near absurdity - not quite, but very near it. All in all, recommended on some bra shots, billions of bullets and a few explosions, and moving at a good pace with good cast and writing. 6/10.

    Smokin' Aces 2: Assassin's Ball (2010)

Set up as a prequel, you meet a few characters that were present in the original film, but obviously before that happened. Other than those minor characters, the only real recognizable face in this one is Tom Berenger. Unfortunately, his role is weak, and despite the movies he has done he can't carry this on his own. His main foil, the FBI man protecting him, is a cheap version of Leonardo DiCaprio, and he does the best he can with the role, but there isn't a lot to be done. All in all, weak cast, held up by a pair of bra wearing hotties, a fistful of cheap assassin wannabes, all trudging along in a story with more bullets than points. Several CGI explosions, but they can't disguise the lack of characters or storyline, or the dialogue that has nothing memorable. Main plot follows that Berenger is a mid-level FBI guy late in his career, suddenly someone puts out a huge contract for him to die at a certain time, so his FBI brothers hide him, protect him, and try to outlast the deadline with all kinds of hell coming for him. Characters aren't developed as much as the original, and the ending tries to out do the original in terms of plot twists and 'who knows what, how deep does it go' and steps well over the absurdity line. The wrap up is weak, cheezy, and silly...ultimately unrewarding for what you suffered through to get there. Yes, more bra boobage, and a LOT more explosions, but none of it is worth it. 3/10.

Unforgettable- news flash. Women are crazy. So a slightly crazy girl moves from San Francisco to Southern California to live with her fiancé. He has a daughter with an extremely crazy ex wife. The ex wife starts doing things to her to try and ruin the relationship.

Not the greatest movie. The cast is ok and do a descent job. Gets a little predictable. No boobs, but you get gratuitous side boob and a butt in one scene. 5/10

After spending two weeks dedicated to Halloween, the wife and I burned through Stranger Things 2:
Wife was a huge fan of the first season, I enjoyed it but wasn't the same level of fandom. The story picks up almost a year later. Will (who showed he still had issues) is still experiencing issues from his time in the Upside Down. A few new players enter the "world" and the story takes off from Will's increasing amount of issues. A limited character Erica (Lucas's lil sister) became my favorite character, her DGF attitude was awesome in limited screen time. All the usual players are back, and some of the additions were nice but predictable. At least one new major character wasn't even needed, could have done the whole season without them and there would be no real change to the plot. Overall I thought it wasn't as good as the first season, but still very quality TV. 8/10.

JimBob Matrix: no boobs where see or harmed in this show.
