Speaking of offense, turnovers. This tells you most of what you need to know about 2018 so far.

• The Gators lead the nation with 14 takeaways, and they are the only SEC team with double-digit takeaways. Florida had 17 takeaways all of last season, which ranked tied for 81st nationally.

• The Gators have scored 43 points off turnovers; they only totaled 44 points off turnovers in 2017.

• Florida’s ability to force turnovers this year has it ranked second nationally in turnover margin (+10). Only Kansas (+12) has a better margin, and only three other teams have a margin better than +6.

• Following 2008, when it set a school record with an insane +24 turnover margin, UF has only been higher than 33rd in turnover margin three times (2009: +7, 20th; 2012: +15, t-7th; 2015: +8, t-22nd).

• Fumbles have been Florida’s primary source for takeaways, as its 10 fumble recoveries lead the FBS by three, and its eight forced fumbles are tied for fourth.

• Jachai Polite is tied with Oregon’s Justin Hollins for the national lead in forced fumbles (three). Polite joins Marcus Maye (5 - 2015), Dante Fowler, Jr. (3 - 2013), and Loucheiz Purifoy (3 - 2012) as the only Gators since the start of the 2011 season with three in a season.

• Florida had three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries for the entire 2017 season, ranking 129th and 125th, respectively, among FBS teams a year ago.

Just a quick question.... How are you supposed to put up big numbers stat wise when your ST and D are give ng you the ball in the other teams territory constantly? Have to say, others are right... Score matters more.

See 2008 - Just saying # 92 total offense is still pretty bad when you consider our easy schedule so far. We cant count on all that crazy scoring against the rest of the schedule.

Geez:

Y'all are rough.

We have had no Special Teams or S&C for years and now we are rocking it.
D backs are very thin but holding their own
D Line is now tackeling - LB play is back

The O line better - Not Good
Franks - Better not Good
WR & TE - Much better
RB - See line

But we must admit we are much better under Mullen

The only problem with that stuff is that a guy chased out of the pocket that hits a guy that is wide open is credited with doing something good under pressure when its not even a hard play to make.
Why this is post worthy is because he was horrendous last year. It’s worth noting his improvement

That's the point. He's making it this year. Last year not so much....

But we were not doing it last year

'78,
Please post the rest of that link showing msu'' offense improvement under CDM. More balanced assessment than law presents.

Sorry, Franks was good. And yes, Mullinz is responsible.

Yes, it has been a month if cupcakes. and yet most of the 128 other teams have had a month of cupcakes too.

I don't care, cupcakes or not...less flags, better execution, better special teams play

And let’s face it, more enjoyable to watch. AND did I say POINTS?

It is. Far more enjoyable than watching Chimp and Butters try to win time of possession and rest the defense.

you know what rests the defense and lets them play with aggression? Scoring points and putting pressure on the other offense.

40-80th isnt impressive.

Lets hope he figures out how to recruit Florida and adds talent.
I find the yds more impressive than the rankings. The year before CDM arrived ranked 114th with 276 yd/game total offense and 102 yds/game rushing. His first year there, 69th with 368 yds/game total offense and 225yds/game rushing. A longer comparison: nine years before CDM, 313 yds/game ranked 114th. Cdm's nine years, 420 yds/game ranked 42nd. I find the improvement impressive; you may suit yourself.
