    And you know this because?

My uncle lives up the road in Omaha. He swears by the place. He keeps inviting me out. I've yet to visit.

Only thing good In Nebraska is the whitetail hunting in the western part of the state.

I understand that you were not advocating being upset. I think the only thing that has changed at UF in 28 years changed at least by 2001. That change was Foley and UAA became convinced it was all about them and started meddling in the football program beyond making sure that NCAA rules and paper work are followed.

I can't prove this, but I bet UF has a reputation for this in coaching ranks and it affects the pool of coaches interested in UF. I wish that this hire had been a step to reverse this. The reports suggests it was not.

It takes a special moron to lose TWO National Championship head coaches to other jobs in the period of a mere 10 years.

Outside of ohio State and Michigan, who assembles any talent in the big 10? They won't even play both of em in the same season.

Wait, UF could have had an NC HC bringing along his whole NC staff.!!!

                  Exactly.

Id like to recommend January or February. You will love it. Not just -20 but also 50 mph winds. It is LOVELY.

No one wins a NC in Nebraska, today. Not with Meyer in Big 10. Not with Booger still recruiting well in Meatchikin.

This isnt the 80s and they cant give out 200 walkons (with "county scholarships) and bovine steroids to every player.

There is no chance he wins an NC. He could have at UF. Fvkk him.

So you're saying he's no better than Pelini and/or Riley? Glad we didn't hire him..... (note the sarcasm)

Law, you're talking out of your ass. I know you'll dismiss all of this, but Scott Frost is a winner and he'll win at Nebraska:

Michigan's class was ranked 22nd....Nebraska's was 23rd. Yeah, he's going to get out recruited by booger for sure!!

I know you won't read this, but Nebraska's walk-on program is being reinstated:

Scott Frost hopes to rebuild walk-on program

These are ALL walk-ons signed THIS year:

Nebraska Recruiting: Huskers Sign Biggest Walk-On Class in Years

                        https://www.cornnation.com/2018/2/7/16989602/nebraska-recruiting-huskers-walk-on-class-recruiting

One of the tenets of success identified by head coach Scott Frost was to revitalize the walk-on program. He envisioned a 150 player roster to improve the quality of practices. The first step towards accomplishing that goal was achieved by signing the biggest and best walk-on class in recent memory. Here are the new Preferred Walk-On players, graciously provided by Rivals.com:

OL Collin Shefke (6-5, 275), Lincoln Southwest

LS Cameron Pieper (6-4, 220), Lincoln Southwest

TE Bryson Krull (6-5, 220), North Platte

FB Chris Cassidy (6-1, 210), Lincoln Pius

LB Jake Archer (6-1, 205), Omaha Skutt

DE Ryan Schommer (6-5, 235) Norfolk

OL AJ Forbes (6-3, 275) Bellevue West

WR Justin Holm (6-6, 180) Lincoln Southwest

                        WR Wyatt Liewar (6-3, 170), O’Neill

ATH Brody Belt (5-10, 175), Millard West

QB Matt Masker (6-2, 215), Kearney Catholic

DE Colton Feist (6-3, 235), Yutan

LB Joey Johnson (6-3, 230), Gretna

LB Anthony Banderas (6-1, 215), Lincoln Southwest

DB Isaiah Stalbird (6-1, 200), Kearney

DB Corbin Frederick (5-11, 195), Mansfield, Texas

WR Bennett Folkers (6-3, 180), Gothenburg

ATH Simon Otte (6-2, 180), York

ATH Moses Bryant (6-0, 190), Elkhorn South

ATH Lane McCallum (6-2, 195), Norfolk (Air Force Academy)

LS Cade Mueller (6-1, 225), Gretna

There are a couple of points to make here. First, there are two long snappers. Wasting a scholarship on a long snapper means one less lineman that can be signed, and I know how much you guys love your linemen. Second, there is some real quality in this lineup. Lane McCallum is a transfer back from the Air Force Academy. Moses Bryant is a three star recruit that just dreamed of wearing Husker Red. It is said that your offensive and defensive units are only as good as the scout team they practice against. Having a large, talented scout team to prep against on Monday will pay dividends on Saturday. Congratulations to all these young men, and GBR!

He’s a better coach. But will never recruit well enough to win championships. He’s a 9-10 win coach at Nebraska.

So he's going to be successful because he brings in a lot of players off the street? Wow, why didn't the other 100+ coaches in the country think of that!

Something also tells me he didn't want to leave the state of Florida at all. Either early in the season or before in an interview, he was asked about coaching elsewhere. His response was something like "why would I want to to leave Florida when it's so much easier to recruit in my own backyard right now? Won't be easy to bring Florida players up north to play in the snow."
I believe he wanted the UF job, it seems he was pressured by many close to him like Tom Osbourne to go back home.
As for Central Florida, I heard their new coach, poor bastard, was forced to hire Randy Shannon as their DC.

You clearly said, "it's not the 90's anymore" (or something along those lines) and Nebraska will "never" get back to where they were. Well, he just brought in the largest walk-on class they've had since the 90's and signed a top 25 class. Did Osborne ever sign top 25 classes? The rankings system wasn't around back then, but he was able to pull kids like Tommy Frazier (who was an option QB that not many big programs wanted as a QB) and I'm sure Frost will do something similar, and finish w/ top 25 classes. Those walk-ons lead to more options and occasionally produce a starter/contributor. Don't act like you're not aware of the history of their walk-on program. Not sure why you want to poo poo so bad on Frost. I get the Nebraska hate, I hated it when they beat our asses in 95 too, but I pay enough attention to college football (not just UF football) that I know a winner.....and 90% of Gator Nation wanted him. We can revisit this in 3, 4 years and I'll gladly eat crow.

Ratings or not, I'd be willing to bet Osbourne was bringing in Top FIVE classes over and over and over. You don't win 3 NC's in 4 years without top talent.

And I'm not bashing Frost and think he would have been very successful at UF. Just not Nebraska. Times have changed.
