Its not just the Kaepernick anthem thing that Goodell is letting spiral out of control. Its the whole package. The thugs, the drugs, the arrests, the low class taunting, etc. On top of it all these guys are so huge and fast that they are destroying and killing each other out there. I don't watch MMA for the same reason. The whole spectacle is at odds with my values so I will no longer contribute my viewership or money toward this organization. And BTW, cfb is a hair away from making the list as well.

I'm not the only one. This organization has become a joke.

Free agency killed the NFL for me years ago. I will watch after CFB season is over(playoffs) but it is of casual interested at the most and I'll never sit through an entire game. This is coming from someone who's entire Sunday's used to be consumed with the NFL.

Well, it's true I don't love the NFL like I used to. Hell, I used to be an NBA nut in the 80's and 90's, and completely stopped watching it around 2002. If the NFL believes they'll always have this enormous following and monster ratings, they may learn otherwise the hard way. Forcing politics down our throats would be a big part of their crash. People watch football to get away from that crap, not have it smeared all over our faces.

The NFL is more about gambling now than it is about true fans. From Fantasy Football (season and daily) to regular betting that is where a lot of the draw is.

I am still surprised to see that stadium attendance has not gotten worse. Ticket prices are high, parking is expensive. You can watch multiple games from home...

The NFL might be losing viewers, but the sample size and the context of the data used in the article is too small. Comparatively, last year opening sunday game Cowboys vs Giants two hugely marketable teams with large fanbases. This year Patriots vs Arizona Cardinals if you didn't expect a drop you are insane. This Sunday's game was slow and other than the Viking's receiver hard to watch.

Dude it is common knowledge that NFL viewership is down across the board.

After two weeks, when in January of this year, they were wondering if the NFL could keep climbing as high as they were? it's week 2, I'm not saying they are or aren't... I'm saying from a logical standpoint the sample size is too small.

You say this every year and then by December you are starting threads for Sunday Night and Monday night Football.

Is it safe to assume you are giving up your Ox Bucks and no longer participating in the GCMB Sportsbook?

I will give you $100 if you can find a thread where I said I was boycotting the NFL. Real dollars, not oxbucks. If you can't, then you owe me ten bucks. You have to accept or deny the bet in the next 5 minutes. Its is now 10:46 pacific time.
