We didnt win the east by beating teams. We won the east by Bammer and Vandy beating Tinerc.

Butterteeth did what Chimp couldnt, loose to band boy.

By that logic, Alabama didn't win the West in 2012, '14 or '15, as they lost to a division foe who later lost twice(one on a miracle 4th and 25), allowing Saban and the Tide to back in.

To be clear, I was on record in the lead up to the game in Knoxville that I didn't want to win the East by losing to the vols but seeing them stumble down the stretch due to their tougher West draw(someone had suggested it wasn't a season defining game). That said, us winning had nothing to do with that. If all we did was play East teams, we win with a better record. Now add in the respective West draws and we win by 2 games. If we'd lost at Lsu, and made Atl by virtue of their lost to VU, so be it. Instead, we went on the road and won a division clinching game against a tough opponent. Therefore, the East--terrible or not--was won by UF, and there's really no argument.

As to your last comment about Chimp's wins over ut, there is almost zero chance that his '13 and '14 teams beat the much improved '15 or '16 vol teams. That was simply a matter of timing as they were gradually trending up, and were being driven into the ground. Jones is garbage, and the loss in September is a severe black eye for Mac. But these are still not the same teams WM faced while at UF.

None of this is an endorsement of the staff, nor does it discount their issues on the recruiting trail. But completely dismissing the few legitimate positives is ridiculous.

Would love for Levi to commit and shut down his recruitment after that visit.

And yet.... Chimp beat Bandboy with a bunch of two stars this year. But you think he wouldnt have won with our team? Very odd position to take.

And yet....betting ape raped by Bandboy and the Fatpig isn't easily forgiven. Golly jee and that sure wuz a lot of popcorn being sold.

If eason takes a big step next year, we're in trouble. They're defense is going to be decent to good and they are loaded with talent and depth.

I like you Durty. You're a good poster. I just don't see anything close to a team ''loaded with talent''. They have 2 guys on defense that could've
started for us. One at DT and the other at safety. The rest would be backups or lucky to see the field. On offense their line is dreadful. Possibly the only
team in the league with a worse OL is UK, and I say possibly because the Kentucky bunch seemed to improve at least a little bit throughout the year. Whereas GA put five vaginas up front. Their best receiver is four feet tall and weighs about 78 pounds. For some reasons he declared for the draft. So what do they have on O worth a damn? A pretty good QB with a piss poor line and no WR that can beat good corners. Oh yeah they got a couple of good backs , but when they play a good front like ours have to dodge multiple defenders just to get to LOS. This is why the didn't run the ball against us in the second half.

The bottom line is we whipped these bozos three years in a row, and I very much look forward to watching Sonia Michel who had a whopping 2 yards against us go 0 for 4 in Jax.

Not making excuses, but yes. This was a stellar year for Georgia HS recruits. I've heard some say it might be among the best classes in Georgia HS history.
It was a pretty stellar year for Florida recruits also. Unfortunately we didn't get any of them.

Here's a blurb on Texas and Tom Herman's transition. Notice when Herman discusses the "have's" he doesn't mention UF (there's no excuse that other programs aren't saying, "We need to have what UF has....":

Tom Herman says he hasn’t been told “no” yet from Texas administration, and that means a lot of catching up in off-field staffing and amenities.

“I think more is always good, to a certain point,” Herman said Thursday. “If Alabama has it, if Clemson has it, if Ohio State and Michigan have it, then we’re gonna have it. That’s the reality of college football, and until they tell us that we can’t, we’re going to.”

Herman has his full-time coaching staff in place. He’s in the process of hiring graphics specialists and more. Herman says Texas isn’t far behind in facilities, but there needs to be an aesthetic facelift.

“My job is to tell (president Greg) Fenves and (AD) Mike Perrin what we need to compete at a championship level,” Herman said. “Obviously, the graphics in the hallways, we need to modernize a lot of that. We need to modernize our locker room. That’s the place where our kids spend a big portion of their time, and then we need to update the weight room and reconfigure it a little bit. Those are kind of areas A, B and C and we’re full steam ahead on all of those.”

The bottom line is that we aren't. It is a fact. We did not get in an arms race. Foley's lack of foresight is why we are here.

I would love it if McChewin and our new AD would take a similar stance.

Get out your checkbook then... write a big old check to get us there.

The reality is that while we can get stuff (we are getting stand alone football facility) we don't have the level of donor to get it to the point of Bama, Clemson, Texas, etc...

Hope you're right, guess we'll see... but they've been out recruiting every team in the east by a country mile for a while now, at some point that pays off.

I tend to agree....and if there is a disparity it's very, very small. Texas on the other hand, that's a different story.

Is there anywhere that we can see how the UAA funds are allocated per sport? And then for each year?

Perhaps Foley's mismanagement of money is why we can't get in the arms race. Giving Muschamp a big extention and overpaying mediocre staff members doesn't help.

I think without a doubt they do. I think you are underestimating their fan base.
