I could have (and did) say the same thing about Grossman or Leak.

So many toolbags on here think the primary qualities of a QB is being tall and being able to throw a fastball.

I'm happy as long as they're tall "enough" to see the field well enough to effectively play the position. Some guys do that well at 6', others can't. Anything below 6' makes it incredibly hard to see the field when your Oline is mostly 6'4" or so. Danny. Rexy & Leak all pulled it off because they had a quick release and great vision. LDR just sux balls. I talked a lot of crap about Treon being too short, but he played short. Couldn't see the field, and was entirely too hesitant to throw the ball. That's a terrible combo for a QB. Especially at a power 5 school. LDR, for all his weaknesses, is still 1000% better than Treon, and yet, still sux.

I still believe that SOS was one of the best sideline tacticians, i.e. down by down play callers, in the history of CFB. He seemed to always be one step ahead of the other team. Back in those days, even when the Gators would get a 10 yard penalty, SOS would usually find a way to get those yards back almost immediately. He once said that the had little need for a great punter. He was joking of course, but that tells you how his mind worked.

In addition to the athletic side of things, the more I see from Franks, the more I like him and hope he's the guy for the next few years. Comes across as a good kid, and obviously can close.

I never could figure out how he good figure out the D from the sidelines. Seems like being in the booth would be better. Maybe Steve had someone from the booth call down the Ds tendencies and then dialed a play up to fit?

Don't know, but it was fun watching him.
