The campus is not like UF, so no tailgates, etc.
I said, "the whole division would be made up of THE flagship state universities of southeastern states." Vanderbilt is not a state university, it's a private school. The University of Tennessee is the flagship state university in Tennessee, and the University of North Carolina is the flagship state university in North Carolina. Ditto with all the other SEC East schools.
I was there. Officials (that all despised SOS ) were doing there best to even it up. Most of the officals back then were insurance salesman from Alabuma and Georgia. AND VANDY always has some local Fla kid that plays lights out for them against I think that kid was also from Ocala. Ralph Webb was just another in a long line of them.'96 game when that kid for Vandy was playing the Gators refused to recruit
Tennessee isnt the flagship of this:The University of Tennessee is the flagship state university in Tennessee
Gatorcountry used to be rivals right? That was probably the only time it was big and relevant. Still think GSMB was as big during its heyday. I’ve tried other boards recently and nothing really comes close to this in activity or personality. The only thing lacking is having a true insider
I thought that was a feature.Yeah, the only real issue I have with this board is that occasionally someone will come in and post something completely out of the blue that's really not pertinent to the thread. Other than that, no complaints.
I was there in 96 as well and do remember no tailgating and a game closer than it should have been. I got stinking drunk on music row after the game and remember taking a leak in the middle of the parking lot after leaving the bars, and it was snowing pretty good. That was a great trip!I was there. I wasn’t but I was a DZ bus boy with a bunch of Delts. Got to know them well and hung out with quite a few of them. Good dudes, lots of fun. Were you a Delt?
Certainly part of the appeal for me.I thought that was a feature.

Wtf? I definitely posted in the wrong threadYeah, the only real issue I have with this board is that occasionally someone will come in and post something completely out of the blue that's really not pertinent to the thread. Other than that, no complaints.
Sorority bus boy was the best college job to have.Cool. I was a Fall 86 Delt pledge and was a tri-delt busboy for a year.
No, it was no joke. Just a lack of comprehending what I wrote on the part of the Donkster. Most likely due to Posting Under the Influence.
Yeah, yeah. You're doing that thing you do where you misread or misunderstand what somebody wrote, and then when called out on it, pretend you were just f**king around or busting balls the whole time.
For those keeping score at home, the "flagship" university of a state university system is not a matter of opinion or subjectivity. It's a factual and inarguable designation. Here is a list of the flagship universities of the public university systems in each of the 50 states. Except for Vanderbilt, every SEC East school is on the list, and so is UNC.
Fringe benefits were outstanding.Sorority bus boy was the best college job to have.
Hell yeah, We stayed right outside of Nashville with friends and woke up to snow. My daughter was mesmerized. Great trip., and it was snowing pretty good. That was a great trip!
