We don't know if the Colts balls were in compliance - I don't believe they were tested, even though they should have been.

So, using your logic... The NFL probably tested all 12 of the Pats balls and did not check the Colts balls at the same time?

It's tantamount to saying I lost the tennis match b/c the net was higher on my side of the court.

Well, they used the same balls for both teams. So it would be tantamount to saying the net was just higher.

Not sure what you mean there. The teams use their own footballs.

ESPN milking this for everything now. Have 2 balls on air now showing the big difference when you squeeze them and Brunnel saying how he loves the deflated football better.

Any other team this is 2nd page news. Since it is a repeat offender. It is a big deal.

Just take 5 TDs away from them and see what the outcome would have been.

What's odd is that a Colts player handles the ball for 20 seconds and notices they are deflated, but the refs handle the ball on every snap and didn't realize they were out of spec? Refs should've caught this much sooner

Yeah, I think they officiated themselves right out of the Super Bowl.

If this were Alabama pulling this stunt against the Gators in the SEC championship game, all we would be posting is how it changed the whole dynamic of the game... You guys are hypocrites.

BS. Bama blew our doors off just like the Pats did against the Colts. The ball had nothing to do with getting dominated at the line of scrimmage. Hell, they coulda used a medicine ball and they still woulda dominated the Colts.

Can someone explain how the deflated ball helped the Pats run around, over, and through the Colts' defense all day long?

It is two different issues.

1. did them deflating the ball cause the Patriots and unfair advantage which caused them to win the game. Absolutely not. Blunt could have been carrying a cement block and still gone through that defense.

2. Was it breaking a rule, and were they caught breaking said rule. From the evidence so far, it appears so. Regardless if it help them when the game or not it is a violation of the rule book. Each team is given 12 "game balls", the Patriots had 11 of their 12 found to be deflated. We do not have evidence at least publicly on the Indianapolis side.

The Colts lost that game regardless of the deflated balls. To "protect the shield" the NFL will need to punish the Patriots at this point, and hopefully they do a better job investigating and explaining than they did about the Ray Rice issue.
