Gives the Twitterverse something else to talk about. At least for the time being...

Plays on LSU's (over)confidence with the notion that they beat him so bad, *they're* the reason...

If effective immediately as reports indicate, makes the SC game that much more of a gimme...

Well played sir. :)

Why quit in the middle of the year? Would not have thought he'd quit his team? Winder if there is a family or medical reason?

Seriously, today sucks a$$.

Just another reason to hate Christopher Columbus.

This is the worst sports day since sitting in the swamp for the mizzou game last year.

This is what I thought. Not very nice to the kids to quit in the middle of a season unless there's a legit reason.

I said in chat, if, big if, he was forced out like some at the SC board are saying, SC just ****ed themselves out of getting a good replacement, SOS is still revered in the coaching profession.

Tell Foley he's on notice. OBC could be a good AD.
Ummm....... no one loves the HBC more than me and I'm all for firing Fooley retroactive to 2013 but no way man. SOS is exactly the opposite of what we need.

Unless he feels like those kids are better than their record and it's his fault. SOS is not the Bowden/Paterno type who feels like he has some kind of lifetime achievement award that allows him to bumble around on the sidelines not knowing where he is while the team underachieves.

He was done last year. Mentally checked out. Not even calling his own plays.

Why would they force him out in the middle of the season? Was he raising hell or something?
