Goon is correct. Quincy, in Gadsden county is my hometown and I grew up in the town proper. Still live in Gadsden county, but in the northeast rural area (Dogtown community) near the GA line. The balance of political power has certainly shifted in the last twenty years or so and the majority of the municipal government leaders are, indeed, black. Like politicians everywhere, there are some good ones who have the best interest of the populace at heart. There are others who have an agenda that isn't in the best interest of the populace IMO. Low-performing schools and a largely under-educated workforce have stymied potential positive growth, economically and otherwise. There is a lot of poverty. But it is home and we have many friends and relatives there, along with some family property, so we remain still, trying to help as we can and live as positive citizens and neighbors....goon dropped in and informed the program that reverse racism does exist in a town called gadadsen and in another town name quincy and in that town all the municiple leaders are black( wow) . i learned today that all rednecks arent racist some even could be considered blacknecks.
