I think most of us know what we are getting, and aren't overly hyped about it. A lot of guys are "solid coach", and many others are "I'll believe it when I see it" and others are "well, we're f+++ed". I'm in the "well, we're f+++ed, but hopefully it'll somehow work, but I doubt it will, so I'll believe it when I see it" camp. And before anyone attacks me, there is no one here who hopes I am dead wrong more than I do.

Recruiting is crucial this year. We need a top 5 class, at the very least; with plenty of kids who are ready to contribute.

While Mullen was the third choice after a pair of hyper-sexy names and probably less so with many of you -- esp Law -- given the options Stricklin was left with, he was probably the intelligent choice.

I think part of the lack of buzz is knowing we won’t be contending for anything next year. We have to rebuild the entire program from the ground up. This isn’t 2005 - there’s an empty cupboard.

There was more buzz with Zook.

Mullen is somewhere in between, I don't think he will bringing any hardware home from Atlanta but he might, there was ZERO chance with the last two guys.

No, it isn't hopeless. He played footsy with us for a LONG time, even with McElbutters pathetic excuse for an offense.

This is probably tailored for him, though I think he isn't the hammer type back that Mullins really needs. He is a FAR better fit than Corral. I hate to say it but Corral fits much better at scUM, Ugly, or one of the passing centered teams in the Big 12, maybe Louisville. He'd be awesome with Petrino. I can't imagine him working for us now, as sweet as that arm is.
