What a great way to end a sh!tty football season. So tired of football after watching the gators suck it up all season but watching uga lose yesterday, fspoo look like such dog ****e last night and then watching both of them finish outside helped the hurt some.

For the moron in this thread that is a fspoo sympathizer, you know who you are, turn your gator gear in and go shove some d!ldos up your arse. You are a moron. With or without Travis, they didnt deserver to get in. Bama and uga would annilate them...even with Travis. Their Strength of Record was 3rd, which basically means the average top 25 team would finish with the same 13-0 record as fspoo did if they played that weak arse schedule.

Not a lot of good days this college football season for us Gators but this is one of them.

The argument against a Group of 5 team being in the playoffs is that they wouldn't do as well if they had run a P5 conference gauntlet from mid-October through November, rather than having all offseason to prepare for a College Kickoff game or 5 weeks to prepare for a bowl game.

edit -- UCF, BYU, Houston and Cincinnati got their first taste of being in a P5 league this year. All had a losing conference record. And only UCF at 6-6 is bowl eligible.

But with playoff expansion, that is what is going to happen...mid majors will be getting in...Liberty would have been the last team in this year

For now. The initial goal was to expand the playoffs. The Power 5 will eventually force the issue and raise the criteria to get into the field. Eventually, it will take a once every 5 years or so team like those Boise State, UCF and Cincinnati teams. The rare exception, not the rule.

UCF is now in a power 5, and I believe Boise State and Cincinnati have been contacted to join a P5.

The major malfunction with the entire system is that there are too many teams in the "league." The 133 team FBS, or the playoff schools, whatever its going to be called next year, only really needs to have about 60 teams in it. And even that is probably too many. Its the main thing which prevents organizing the season into brackets which produce a champion without voting by committee.
