Trask is pretty accurate on short stuff. That TD pass was great. Hammond was covered but the other guys were covered more. He took the best option and threw it well. Its very painful for you I know but it blatantly obvious Trask is a better passer than Franks. Like I said, that doesn't make him good, just a better passer.
However, he doesn't have that arm that the giraffe had to beat you essentially the entire depth of the field or hit those deep outs but those have been coming at a much much slower pace.
But Trash can't run, or even move in the pocket, at all. That is the problem. This offense does not block a DL on every play. The QB is supposed to read that guy and make him choose, DL crashes on the RB, QB keeps, DL stays home, give to RB. That is the offense. That is 60-70% of the plays.
That just doesn't work with a guy who cannot run at all.
Yes, Franks wasn't a much of a runner either but you need at least a threat.
When they decided they weren't playing EJ at all this year, they should have thrown away the playbook and used the old Leak playbook with a FB. At least we'd have a running game. Now we have nothing. It's not like you can install a new playbook in a week.
