40 years of driving I can't think of a single Buick model off of the top of my head. How the hell are they still in business?

Riviera - first one to come to mind. The old ones were pretty cool. But otherwise I get ya. Regal, that's another one. ;)

China. GM cut out their best performance division, Pontiac, because China was buying Buicks by the mega-freightliner load.

And how have you NOT heard of their Regal or more specifically the GNX? Look that car up if you want to see a bad ass car.

You do know what Pontiac stands for, right?

When I was a kid watching the Army-Navy game on black and white television I thought Bill Carpenter the Lonely End of Army was about the coolest thing in football. Back then all teams huddled before running a play. The team left an empty slot for Carpenter in the huddle but he remained posted all by himself. I thought this was very mysterious and wondered how did he know what the play was going to be.

He was a badass as a player (later inducted into the College HOF) and as a soldier: was awarded the DSC for actions in Viet Nam and ultimately retired as a 3* general.

Carpenter was on the undefeated 1958 Army team that featured Heisman Trophy winner running back Pete Dawkins. Carpenter went on be named to the All-American team of 1959.

Yeah I've heard of Regal now that you mention it, my mom had one. But when I first heard Buick I couldn't think of a single model they made.

Right now they have Lucerne and Lu... something else.

Obama liked Buicks, and forced GM to keep them. They axed the much better selling Pontiac instead. Silly move. I guess the world needs two GM luxury brands, one I guess near luxury.
