Yes, Rivals has us with two of the top 10 and 5 of the top 50 because Manuel didn't sign. Getting 10% of the top 50 when you're the Flagship and they other two major programs are sucking d!ck isn't an accomplishment
What I suggested was that 40 per cent of the top ten would look different.

If Miami can get six of the top 25, surely we should be able to also.

It's not like we didn't have room bc we were out landing all the five stars from across the country like Meyer did.

So serious question, because I agree wholeheartedly with you. What % should we expect and at what levels?

For instance, 3 commits at each 10 ranking intervals, 1-10, 11-20, etc? That may be aggressive consider position groups tend to be rated differently, but you get my point. And how many out of state?
I don't know. Surely we can do at least as well as scUM, right? And better than Clowntown with no coach? Right?

If we had six of the top 25 too, it would have been a damn good class. We actually had several of those guys at one point.

Im fine with preferring in state kids (or at least south eastern kids from big known schools) vs some perhaps slightly higher ranked kids from somewhere else (Washington, Cali, etc).

He gets most of his info from the little donkey dressed up as the devil on his right shoulder. The angel donkey on his left shoulder said **** it years ago.
Im not clear that there was ever an angel donkey.

The devil donkey was the only one talking. At least that's all I heard.

I assume you know that I agree in principle unless you specifically mean that CDM can do that. That I doubt and no evidence exists at this date that he can.

Mullen does his own evals remember
Sure he does. Everyone does. He decided he wanted five stars or the high four stars too.

He evaluated that he wanted those kids then figured out they were going to Bammer, Clemson, Ugly and the others. Then he went through plans B, C, D, E, and F at most positions, like RB and WR. After plan X said he was staying with Ga Tech and plan y said he is staying at Cowbell, we are going with Plan Z from Tulane.

There is certainly no evidence but I wish I could hope that he could.

Things could have changed last night for sure but its always been A&M or Stanford (havent heard anything different today so far).......The staff wanted Gibbs and Marks but once Marks stuck with MSU, they shifted to Parrish who jumped immediately.
Hmmmmm... I guess we landed Parrish.

I just spent 30 minutes catching up on all of this (had a deposition in Florida on Wednesday and have been completely out of the loop).

After watching Mullen's first 3 classes, I think you've hit on something: yes, he wants the top kids just like Clemson, Alabama, UGA, Ohio State and all of the other big boys....he makes a pitch, and so far has missed on most of the superstars. He's landed a few solid/high 4-stars (such as Dexter, Wingo, Copeland, Gouraige, EJ, and a few others). Where he needs to improve is hitting on the Plan B's & C's. Last year we only signed 1 DT - he should have had a couple of Plan B's waiting in the wings. This year: WR & RB. I'd much rather land a DT (in 2019) that needed a year or two to develop than completely whiffing. I'd rather see us take a 3-star UCF WR than whiff. I think that's fine with 2 or 3 of your takes in a 22+ member class - now if he was doing that with 8-10 kids it would be a problem. I'll give him a pass on year 1, but year 2 & 3 we've seen big gaps at certain positions.

The good thing is next year there are only a couple of big "needs" (WR & RB). It will be the first time in a long while that we can take a balanced class vs. loading up at certain positions.

We absolutely did in his early years. The 2006 class seemed like we got every Top 25 kid in Fl, outside of Patrick Robinson. 2007 was similar.

Without looking it up, I'd say we started losing ground a bit in the 2009 class as we became more global and fsu began gaining traction again.

Yeah 2009 we were focusing a lot more across the country. But still two of our recruits were top five in Florida. We only had a handful from Florida that year. But we actually started focusing more nationwide in 2008. Mainly because we were the hottest program on the planet.

Honestly, that’s when things started to fall apart a little bit for us. Trying to stretch our self nationally when we should’ve just been focusing at home. Our championship depth was all from Florida kids.

2010, we decided to refocus again. We got 10 of the top 25 recruits in Florida.

here’s a breakdown of top 50 kids in Florida year by year.

2005: 10 ( 1 top 20)
2006: 14 (5 top 20)
2007: 15 AND 9 of the TOP 16
2008: 8 (3 of the top 20)
2009: 6 (3 of top 20)
2010: 11 (7 of top 10 // 9 of top 23)
