Have you seen the list of 2nd and 3rd string NFL QB's? Many of them make Driskel look like the 2nd coming of Bobby Layne.

Hell, most of them would break down and pee themselves on the field if they actually had to play. At least Driskel can get through a game.
And that's the whole game, not taking a selfie and missing the kneel down.

Was just about to post this. Driskell may make some boneheaded plays, but I can’t imagine him missing a play in the game because he’s busy taking a selfie with a fan like Haskins did.
Is there a better illustration of that generation? It was both cringeworthy and a cliché.

A fan? Maybe a fan of the other team.

There was a whole section at Bengals stadium dedicated to throwing Skyline chili dogs at Driskel if he got within range. The Bengals provided the seats and dogs for free.

Overall Driskel is way better than he used to be but he is not decent NFL QB material and is only in the league due to that Cincy coach loving his physical attributes. If he was 6'2 he never gets picked up after being cut by S.F. in camp. The games I have seen he only can push the ball down the field when they are trailing by quite a bit.

Driskel hurt his hamstring. Honestly, him hobbling around against the Bears defense on Thanksgiving may not be pretty.

:fear:
Nothing to do with Driskell, but years ago we were putting together an office softball team and one of our co-workers declined to participate saying he’d like to but “it hurts my ham springs.” We all agreed that softball wasn’t worth the risk of hurting any springs.

Jeff Dipshyt ends his career with a 1-10 record.:lmao2:

Good Lord. I wonder where that stands in the record book.

EDIT: Nope, not the worst. Apparently even under active QBs, Deshone Kizer is worse, 0-15. Dipshyt is second.

Driskel's career earnings are estimated to be in the 2-2.5 million range.

Come on man, you didn't even contemplate the after tax amount? What about state income taxes? How can we even assess his earnings without calculating in the 10+% California income tax, the 1.5% San Francisco city income tax, Ohio 5% state income tax, 2.1% Cincy city income tax, Michigan's 4.25% tax and 2.4% Detroit tax? We haven't even factored in county-wide income and property taxes or worked in marginally higher sales tax rates across states.

This raw income data is useless!

Aside - Who would have guessed Cincy and Detroit would have higher income taxes than San Fran? Maybe Detroit with the bankruptcy, but damn.

Maybe one million, wasn't a high draft pick and was playing near/at the league minimum until signing with the Lions, which was his biggest contract up to that point.

Gross $2M with $1M in the bank? A few young men his age would be okay with that. UF degree and graduate work, a NFL career to generate interest and free drinks...

Much too high his biggest contract was $720 / annually but on a per game basis which he already wasn't under contract the first quarter of the season. The first contract was a 4 year deal at 2.45 million, and he only completed two years of that.... so gross might be around 1.5 to 1.7 before taxes. Now I agree with the rest about Degree and possible grad degree (finished my first masters in under a year).

Stating the obvious though: Residents of Detroit and Cinci are still paying lower combined city and state taxes than residents of the state of CA. San Francisco city taxes are painful on top of the already onerous 10-14% state income tax.
