So for all you anti-Foley freaks, I’m looking forward to your bashing of the greatest Gator of all time for.... agreeing with ME!

Rip down his statue, take his name off the stadium, remove his brick, get his ass out the Ring of Honor. That bastard had the unmitigated gall to call Foley the “greatest AD in UF history.”

And if nothing else, it really illustrates how several of you who like to throw out the “Spurrier hated Foley” bs, are really completely talking out your asses.

So Spurier says a media friendly statement and that makes it fact.... ok... Just because he made a tweet as a member of the Athletic Department.... reaching for straws.

The same Stricklin lackey that is managing that florida gators twitter is managing Spurdogs. No way he says that out of the public eye.

Yes, because Spurrier has a history of not speaking EXACTLY as he feels, not telling the truth and worrying about media perception as he gives his thoughts.

Yep, that’s Spurrier.

Or, it could be that Spurrier believed exactly what he said because it’s TRUE.

So, I’ll be over here waiting for you all to bash The Godfather of the program for having the exact same take as good ol’ DC.

Right, so let’s add this to the anti-Foley freak list:

5) He got The Godfather, and most notoriously honest man the program has ever known, to lie for him. As Spurrier is wont to do, he faked it and gave the highest praise imaginable to someone he really hated.
4) Benefitted from a changing ecosystem.
3) Lucked into Spurrier.
2) Lucked into Machen, who lucked into Meyer.
1) Lucked into Billy Donovan who was really just a dumb kid who somehow made it big.

No, he got some lackey running Spurrier's Twitter to give him praise
4) Benefitted from a changing ecosystem.
No Doubt
3) Lucked into Spurrier.
He wasn't AD when Spurrier was hired genius
2) Lucked into Machen, who lucked into Meter.
If you think Meyer comes here instead of waiting for ND/OSU/other Big 10 school without the Machen connection, you're delusional
1) Lucked into Billy Donovan who was really just a dumb kid who somehow made it big.
This is the one where you have a tiny argument, but it's not football (the one that really matters), and from the articles I've read about Billy's hiring, he came here despite Foley, not because of him

That Spurrier quote should end this thread. I’m not demanding apologies from anyone, but you should all know that I’m a different level poster and you shouldn’t come at me with silly **** that can be knocked into the upper deck. I’ve been doing this longer than some of you pipsqueaks have been alive.

Move along and find another thread.

So a Brand Ambassador Spurrier is going to insult the AD of that brand? Still grasping at straws. Now you are using non-data out of context to make a point you are lacking in data to back up.

The buyout stare down was a decisive win for Foley and UF: we pay 500k over 6 years (3 million), we pay CSU 2 million for coming to get smoked in the Swamp, McElwain pays 2 million himself. Foley's job is to protect Florida, he did that.

So Spurrier, universally known for speaking his mind and hurting feelings and making brash statements, suddenly, told a lie because he was worried about insulting someone and sullying the brand. Yet, he spent his career as UF coach not giving a single fyck about branding or feelings.

this is where all you anti-Foley cult members should simply say “ok, you win.”

I would never mess with DC. Never.

For you new turds that don't know, he was a member of the old GSMB for years and a member of this one for a year or two. He ain't jhbyrd.

Glad he's back, but I have a feeling he's not going to make a permanent arrangement.
