Wish I could give more likes. He had one of the most memorable Fl-ga games in history. First Gator back to be All SEC three years in a row.
For hard-nosed old school running backs look no further than Macclenny and Baker County's own Larry Dupree. Was a Gator great for his day and time. Ray Graves certainly appreciated him.
Not as far as Uncle Rico though, right? My Dad said Casaeres was the best athlete he saw when he was at Florida. He could also throw the football about yards.
Whoops, make that 80 yards! Not as far as Uncle Rico though, right?
Don't think I've ever seen a back with Emmett's vision.Always thought Rhett and Taylor were the two hard nosed backs that got the tough yards pounding the rock. Emmett just made people miss. Neil had John L and one hell of a line? I think
Florida has had a lot of really good backs through the decades
Forgot about the textbooks, remember the credit cards... want to say there was something with a scooter as well.. but then again we had so many issues with scooters, i might just be lumping him in there as well.
Im drawing a blank on that one.
I remember one football player tossing someone in a lake for trying to steal his bike I thought. But maybe it was a scooter. Pretty sure that was Jabar.
Speaking of problems we had with scooters.
I thought we had a player straight up rob a fellow student of his scooter while he was sitting on it. Gaffney is the guy that came to mind as the perp.
Wasn't it James Jones with the one-handed catch on the goaline on the last play of the game?I was at UF from 82-86 and got the privilege of seeing Neal Anderson, JLW, Lo Hampton and James Massey run the ball... Neal was definitely a smooth dude on the field, especially on the astroturf in the open field.
And to watch JLW with that one handed catch against the convicts cemented him as one of the best to me.
Top three for me:
1. Rhett
2. Taylor
3. Anderson
