Emotions are high after a bad loss, people say and write things that are not supported by facts....... Context is determined by winning or losing..... I'm not happy about what and how Mullen has handled this but at the same time, the only thing I think should be done is shake up the defensive coaching staff.

First off pat forde went full on cancel the season corona bro early on so as far as I’m concerned he can suck a hairy donkey dong. The national sports writers have had it out for him (and Dabo for that matter) for not succumbing to Covid induced yeast infections like the “journalist” at CNN have. I’ve been a Mullen supporter and will continue to be, but yeah, it’s been a rough couple days for him. The fact that we’re in a position to be this kind of disappointed and angry at a loss this late in the year is indicative of how far we’ve come and I don’t want to lose sight of that. Still though Todd’s defense has been indefensible this year and Marco’s actions deserve all of the scorn he’s received. I’m just looking for some contrition from Dan at this point because even though Jabba the hut has “defensive coordinator” on his business cards, the defense belongs to Dan, just like the offense and ST. It’s his team top to bottom and if the people he’s put in charge of certain aspects of the team suck, then that’s on Dan

1) Blamed crowd noise in a half empty stadium
2) Came out on the field of play to yell at an opposing player which set off a fight, then walked off the field like a WWE wrestler trying to pump up the crowd
3) Followed up the previous situation by showing up the presser in a Darth Vader Costume
4) After a poorly coached game blames the playoff committee and playing more games for getting eliminated from playoff contention. Pretending a penalty didn't happen and the garbage was put on the field.

This is year 3, these are his players and his system. This is his direction for the program.

It was 75-80% empty but who is counting. Your points are valid. Look Cousin Eddie was aloof when he was asst. here and he is aloof now. He is arrogant and has no reason or resume to be so arrogant. He realizes that winning 75-80% of his games here and beating UGA, FSU and maybe winning another big game will outweigh those times when we drop a game to some 3rd tier school.

Here is the main point. Until the masses, unlike many of us on the board, watch games beyond the final score, his act will never change. It is why we have a shyt staff, it is why we do not improve as the year goes on. Not every team will or should improve as the year goes on for various reasons. But for a team with this record, that was playing for something and had a reasonably decent health situation, the quality of play should have gotten better steadily and not worse on a weekly basis.
