I believe he is gone. There is a disconnect between the two. It has come out in a few of his post game press conferences. He wants certain things changed. Choker does it briefly, then returns to his usual pattern. I think this situation exposes Mullinz. If you want your DC to change something then make him do it. You are the head coach.

We agree on this - in one presser Mullen said he had to tell Fat Todd to start rotating players. Why would the HC have to tell him that? Fat Todd thinks he's the head coach.

The only hold up I could see is UF's AD's office notorious cheapness - we'd have to pay him a 1 year buyout.

There’s noise where WE hang out, but I don’t know if there is noise in the bubble that Mullen hangs out in.

I have a hard time imagining Stricklin or Fuchs giving him any input on Grantham whatsoever. I can only hear them saying, “what, you won the SEC East? Nice work. Here’s an extension and a raise.”

No, he's getting the "tough" questions at the post game press conferences - even during the wins. "Why are players not lined up?" "What were you and Todd arguing about on the sidelines?" (when he gave the stupid Christmas lights answer). The "noise" is real. I agree with you, it's louder on message boards. But there's issues and he's going to have to address it. I think hearing that Torrian Gray is entertaining taking the DBs job at SC is very telling.

Top 15 teams have a higher average recruiting ranking than UF.

Rinse and repeat until 2023.

Gray thinking about a parallel job at a lower university is a tell but I don't think it is the tell you are saying it is. It could be that he is fed up with Grantham and will move on.

If Gray takes that job, I'll tell something I know regarding him(the whole staff really) recently. It's nothing major, but definitely sheds some light on things. I'm just not airing it if he's still here.

Well, now I hope he takes the job!!

I'm not sure if it's just speculation from his VT days (working w/ Beamer there) or if there's real smoke. But it makes no sense for him to leave UF for the DBs job at SC, none.

So how'd we do?

8th Nationally
4th SEC
Only 1-5*

Not enough OL...Mullen says he's going after some through transfer.

Again Bama (20 4&5*s) and OSU smoke everyone...It will be hard to ever catch them. And we can't make it up through coaching.

The RB room is fine. We'll need a HS kid next class however. I said this a few weeks ago, but I'm not going to bag on Knox anymore - it's not his fault, it's Mullen's offense. Any RB that comes to UF, after watching this offense, is probably a borderline retard. Why would any good HS RB want to come play in this offense? Run the ball 2 to 10 times a game, maybe catch a couple of passes, rotate with two or three other RBs, and hope you're the one that gets the bulk of the 15 or so carries (combined) that the RB group gets per game?

The biggest problem with our recruiting is: OL. Other than that, we struggle to get 'elite' talent at most positions (sure, we get one or two here and there). We need to start landing 2 OLs that are not projects (i.e. 4-stars ranked in the top 10 of their position group) each class (then a couple of projects to fill out the class) & start pulling in 3 or 4 more "elite" players (in addition to the 2 or 3 we've been landing). If we do that, it'll put us in the top 4 to 7 every year - which is probably the ceiling for Dan Mullen's recruiting efforts.

We will never recruit as well as Ohio State, Alabama, or Georgia. All of those teams have 30+ analysts and those schools invest their money back in the facilities.

So 4 would be the highest we will ever be.

I would say that we will always sit somewhere around 6 or 7. With an absolutely exceptional year at 4.

My biggest issue with recruiting right now is that we are not going to pull in any elite OL with Hevesy. He’s just not well liked. Regardless of his production. This means we will always have a steady OL. But never a great one.

Y'all say I'm stoned for thinking about no resume coaches like Kerwin (I said like) but I'm at a point, what do we have to lose? We always seem to be behind Bama, OSU, UGA and even LSU in recruiting.

Why not roll the dice on some Hot Shot DC who might be younger or have great coaching ability? Someone who players want to play for. It can't be Grantham. And as a HS Coach would you advise a player to play for Grantham?

Mullen ball forces the run. He's not going to sit EJ in the pocket and throw the way he does it with Trask. The OL will likely have 4 new starters (plus a full spring and regular off-season S&C).

I'm stubbornly going to disagree w/ you on the upcoming firing of Grantham - it's happening (at least I'm talking myself into it).

The only way Grantham is gone is if the university forces Mullen to make the change
Unfortunately the university is too busy sucking up to the Chinese communist party to worry with a stupid sports problem

We need that 1984 "Great Wall of Florida" I think they all got drafted.

They did, but there were also like 17 rounds in the draft. Look at the linemen drafted under Spurrier and the elite linemen under Meyer.
