Bought my Kuerig when we were told to start working from home (was going on the office desk). Great investment, BUT....I started drinking waaayyyyy too much coffee and gave myself some issues. Now working on moderation.
Wife LOVED the weighted blanket she got. I hate it. I don't feel any warmer, and with as many times as I have to pee through the night, I feel like I'm getting a constant workout trying to get out of bed or back in.
I travel a bit, including on some trains. My Bose noise cancelling headphones are a godsend.
Bluetooth headphones, with mic and noise cancelling. Love 'em. Been borrowing my sons, until I had to sit down and educate him on what a q-tip is and how to use them, and HOW OFTEN to use them. Disgusting. That, and I always felt guilty misplacing his. Now, I have my own (not Bose, cheap off brand but good), and life is groovy.
SSD- it really boosted the computers performance.
Logically, I know that's true. And I keep telling myself things would be worse on the old platter drives, but it just doesn't feel faster. Still, decided to buy a second one for storing all the apps and data, leaving slow media (music, movies) on the old platter drives.
It was discussed in a different thread, but my purchases of motion sensing LEDs has been one of the most cost effective happy-homeowner investments ever. Large ones in the garage, and anytime I need to fetch tools (something is always breaking in the house) it's nice to be hands free and have the way lit up and auto-off afterward. Also invested in a few motion sensing LED night lights placed strategically (bathrooms, stairs) so night time walking is less dangerous, and if the kids are out of their room at night I can see it light up and let me know
Likewise, we bought the Ring doorbell over a year ago. With wife and I working, we always knew when the kids got home from school or went out to play with neighbors, if anyone came to the door (neighbor kids or package drop offs or solicitors). This gave the wife immense sense of security and being in-touch with the kids and their activities. In recent months, we expanded to the Ring flood lights also with camera. One on the deck can show us the entire yard, so we know when the dog is let out (or not), and when she's being left out too long. That one and the one over the garage can show us when the neighborhood is playing at our house, who is involved, etc. Even makes our house the basketball shoot around late at night, despite a (slight) sloped driveway. The wife likes being 'that' house. I just want them to stop breaking things, drinking all my bottled waters and leaving trash everywhere. I am a grumpy old man.
