So which is it? The pressure? Because that was all the early comments from her.

I don’t disagree with any of the examples you provided of male athletes quitting, I just don’t remember so many people immediately rushing to praise them for their actions to the point of labeling them heroic.
I don’t recall that happened in any of your examples but maybe I missed it

Many of the gymnasts purposely do this in warmups. I saw the American female who won the all around gold do this repeatedly during her warmup. I believe they do this to gauge their release and their timing.

I didn’t see the video you’re referring to but I can’t help but wonder if people are circulating these videos as “proof” that Biles was in danger when in reality, this may have/likely been a deliberate part of Simone’s warmup routine.

A real doc might weigh in here on whether she might have a hard to detect condition temporary or otherwise that causes her to lose her ability to know where she is during the trick. And yeah I suppose there are an army of docs supporting the team who have ruled things out. Still, she was way way off.
