But if you ever want a shot at the SEC and/or NC...He ain't your guy.

Quickly followed by the hardest question…Who is?

If we are on the wrong level of the Pareto distribution of HBCs, finding THE guy is hard. It was easy to dump Hall when SOS was available and obvious to dump Zook when UM3 was available. When you’ve got a great one in your sights, jump on it.

Dumping a good coach for a crapshoot isn’t wise.

Luckily for us, we dont have one. Weve got a guy who can usually beat the less talented teams and always loses to more talented teams, like 80% of the coaches.

Good? If he were a student...Mullen would have never been accepted

I keep saying...bring someone in at half the price like a Kerwin...Give them 2 years if it works...great...if not...move on

Who was Urban? Utah..Who was SOS? Duke.

But it is clear when Mullen kept Grantham...This program is what it is...

Ok for my next prediction Bama will lose two of its first three.
where the hell did I put my gummies?
Jeebus.

Dildo Dan could play Saban every game for 10 seasons and would never win.

He has no reason to back off this time. Skullfukking coming.

Dan isnt going to win us a title...so lets say we dump him; at this point, who is out there that is a sure thing? Napier looks good but do you give him the keys to this program? Im not arguing for Mullen as much as I am saying that unless you have a Meyer, SOS or someone that caliber out there, you tread lightly or become Nebraska

Urban and SOS would not have met Mullen's requirements.

Let's not give a lesser coach a chance.

Do you remember UGA a few years back with loads of talent? That's UF w/o the 4* and 5*

That’s where I see it completely opposite. He doesn’t get to hire a new DC. This wasn’t a candidate that just didn’t work out. If you knowingly bring in someone despised by the entire fan base, and then keep them this long, you have to go down with that ship. I do agree with chferg that we have to be very careful and how we handle any coaching change from here. But I am a hard pass on bringing in a new DC at this point(like after this season).

Between learning and adjusting to a whole new scheme, and bringing in the personnel to run it, we’re basically looking at 2 to 3 years to see if he got that choice right. I’d be OK if it had been someone like Strong that just didn’t work out. Not TG.

I agree. Using a poker analogy, to me retaining Grantham, especially after the defensive performance last year, is like going all in with only a pair of 7's because you think you have the best cards at the table. The bad cards aren't the reason why the player lost. It's the player who decided to play a really bad hand who is responsible.

Mullen will “stay”. He too likes to live dangerously.

Well... he already won the Lotto when he got this contract. Just like Yellowtooth and Midline. It's not really gambling when you're playing with the houses money.
At this point, I think he WANTS to get fired and get paid $30MM to go on permanent vacation.

He probably thinks that he can hide all of his tells behind that Darth Vader mask.
