Cristobal would make recruiting really fun. He would dominate and load this talent up with so much talent. If he can also lure in the elite QBs, which I am sure he could do just as he does in Oregon, we would also be in serious title contention. The problem is that he doesn't seem like a great Xs and Os coach and losses some games that he shouldn't lose. He seems like a Jimbo Fisher type of coach that can build good staffs, recruit like a mad man, and have success, but also consistently drop some games here and there that he shouldn't.
I would take Napier over him and probably a few others also, but I would be okay with Cristobal as a fall back option. If he surrounds himself with a great staff this roster would be so loaded that it would be very hard to lose most of our games. He just needs to get the best coordinators and let them coordinate all of that talent.
I read that Oregon never had a number 1 ranked recruiting class before Mario became coach. He now has 4 number 1 classes in a row I believe.
One thing that has fueled Alabama for the past 10 years and now Georgia is that UF and the Florida schools have sucked so badly. They have taken our elite talent. With a coach like Mario or Napier Alabama and Georgia will become weaker because we will be able to keep a lot of that top talent in state. It's easy to cherry pick 5 star recruits from Florida when we have garbage coaches like sharklover and Mullen.
