Does anyone have any idea how all of this might affect him joining the ring of honor? If the allegations are true does this prevent him?

I got to imagine this will set him back, he’s eligible to get in, the optics certainly wouldn’t look good presently. Urban gonna have to be a good boy for a couple years before the University would consider it I would think.

Refusing to call certain position players by their name. The kicking incident. Brutally calling out his own assistants while haughtily reminding everyone of his own resume. I think you can logically assume that Meyer was a bit sensitive to the idea of his own quirky motivational reputation preceding itself. A lot of people questioned whether the mind games schtick would work in the NFL. It didn’t.

Maybe, intentionally or not, he allowed a little more testosterone into his thinking than he should have in an effort to mark his territory. When in reality all he had to do was win more games than he lost and his team would gravitate to him.
Just a god-awful NFL coach. It will likely go down as one of the, if not the worst college to NFL experiments of all time. Looking back, it should have been obvious because the guys who do well college to NFL are based on superior scheme and mad organization skills. In fact I can't help but think our new HC might actually be the kind who could successfully make the leap, but if that were to happen, hopefully it's at least a decade and a few championships later.

NFL coaches have to earn respect from assistants and players, but demanding it by reminding everyone "I'm fuking Urban Meyer" was bound to lead to a resounding "so fuking what college doosh."

I concur. He’s done coaching unless it’s his grandkids’ flag team. He’s Grudened.
Disagree.

I guarantee there are colleges that would take him in a heartbeat...they'd get him at a discounted rate too as he attempts to rebuild his image.

Having said that, he'd have to WANT to rebuild his image. At this point, he probably has no need to (financially) and will just fade away.

But there are probably sub P5 schools that would go after him immediately, I'd guess.

He doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of landing a head coaching job that he would take. Grudened!

He just needs to go away - fighting for his buyout is only going to bring out more crap that nobody wants public. There will be a behind the scenes agmt and a non disclosure and payoff.

Jimmy Johnson in an SI interview attempted to compare his transition from college to the NFL with Meyer’s, noting he was able to bring his entire Miami staff with him.

That wasn’t the case with Meyer, he said, adding that there was a lot of backstabbing in Jacksonville that contributed to the problems with the team.

They are supposedly friends, so he is trying to change the narrative.

It struck me as odd that Meyer would throw that much shade at his assistants. As if calling them a bunch of losers was to going to motivate a turnaround. It sounded the opposite, that there was a definite strife going on in the background and he’d given up on making it work.
