Yeah, right now UF is playing catch up to the big boys. The last bunch of coaches and admin let us sink into a hole. Napier is going to have to dig us out with a backhoe. Up hill battle for sure, but I still like that we're trying to right the ship.

Here is the thing:

1. If NIL is as big of a deal as many have made it out to be, that’s the great equalizer for this “hole”.

2. We have at least doubled our recruiting spending via all these extra positions.

3. If we are indeed the poverty program many have implied, why has anyone from coaches to admin not come asking for money?

I've been keeping up a lot with this thread, and it currently reminds me of a few days after Napier was hired and everyone was going nuts due to all the decommitments. Then a couple of weeks later, we signed several solid players, and people backed off the ledge and forgot how worried they were just a week earlier.

It's too early to worry. Napier told the fans to be patient, and I think that's good advice for right now. A lot can change by the time the season starts, and even more can change by December. Granted, Rashada's commitment would be a huge step forward since he is arguably the most important recruit for this class. Losing him would hurt, but at this point in time we have a good shot at him.

Yep, but top 5-7 is a must. I’m all for waiting until December, but I’m also not for moving goalposts or making excuses if it isn’t up to Standard either.

I would say if the comments were given directly to an insider who posts that stuff exclusively to behind pay wall site areas, then its still gonna be a problem for Mr. Bland. If they were public record, then it wouldnt be a problem, but if they were public record, you wouldnt need to go behind a pay wall to get them either. Probably best to err on the side of caution. Ox has done a great job on the board, wouldnt want to screw it up.

I heard this entire post in Jeffrey Toobin’s voice.

My goodness, man.

I thought Naiper came out and said he needed at least 22 million a year and they said ok. Is this not correct? If it's correct that's quite a bit cause Ryan Day said 13 million

He doesnt get much time to right the ship. Whether that's a good or bad thing is another discussion, but regardless of anyone's position on it, its a fact. And I think he knew that when he accepted the job.
I agree to an extent. But I think he'll get more time than the last 2 simply because he's clearly a hard worker and seems to run a clean program. Mike white got 6 or 7 years? They even gave muschamp a 4th year and some were still kicking and screaming about him getting fired. I could see him getting a longer leash than the other guys if he's showing some promise.

Napier will turn it around by 2024...2022 will massively better than 2021

I do agree with you that how well liked a coach is has an impact. That’s what gave WM that fourth year. I don’t think he Mike White analogy works at all, because basketball gear isn’t the same as football. Very few coaches have success after failing within the first two years. And as it sits, he may very well go into 23 with roster deficiencies and Jack Miller at quarterback. We could not afford to not have a top level quarterback in last year‘s class, and definitely not this year. A miss here on this kid, as extreme as it sounds, could have major implications on Napier‘s time here.

There’s also a simple economic element involved. Yes, guys like JM and DM sucked, but both complained about support at various times. BN has that support. So if he’s unable to do markedly better, there’s almost an inflationary aspect that must be considered because of what it’s costing us. If he doesn’t get better results, that support will dry up.

Its coming from Corey Bender. He has been wrong a lot lately. So we got that going for us.
Actually, it is coming from just about everybody from ours guys to the scUM guys to national writers. The highest bidder wins Rashada.

It’s that to a degree. But miami isn’t outbidding us, and certainly not A&M. Let’s be clear, if this happens it won’t be because of Dan Mullen, or Jim McElwain, Stricklin, facilitates, commitment to winning or anything else. It will be Cristobal closing despite being the throw in, late to the party coach, while we did not. We can sugar coat all we want, but that’s reality.

He plays 7 on 7 in Miami...and he says it's more like...CA...go figure

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Until we’re ready to pony up and be big spenders in football, we’re going to continue to fall behind.

Not even worth getting upset about at this point lol
