I have no idea. Again, you are confusing “better than” with actual talent. But we lived in their backfield and they struggled to run, so I’d say our front four was better than their OL.

Anyway, this game was essentially lost on two plays. One of our most gifted athletes on the field handed them 14 points on horrific bad place. We lost by 10. That’s your game..
We were physically beaten by them. Remember their ST gave us points and took points off the board for them. They owned the 2nd half in our stadium to boot.

Lucky for them our offense says "hold my beer".
Yeah, there's absolutely no way to improve on what we saw last night. That's us for the rest of the year.

Insufferable. I'll bet you were thrilled about the game so you could return to your snide remarks.

It was a joke Alice for crying out loud. Check the chat and you will see I was holding out hope for a win when you were bailing on the game.

I don't think our offense will play that bad the rest of the year. But UT has a vertical offense that is going to stress our D. We are going to have to either play a much better offensive game or force a lot of turnovers.

And you're definitely mistaken if you think I'm one who celebrates losses to try to say I told you so. First of all I hate losing and I picked us to win by 2-3 TD's. And second, despite what you think, I like Napier and what he is doing. But I think it is becoming obvious quickly that trying to wear too many hats is a mistake. I don't have the patience to try to find it, but one of my early posts about BN after taking a little time to learn who the guy was, said something like "hopefully he will see this opportunity for what it is, one of the best jobs in college football and a chance to be the guy to take take the program back to the top. To do that he needs to surround himself with the best coordinators, coaches and players. That means he needs to focus on being the CEO and leave his offense at ULL, give up being OC, and hire an elite young OC." I was disappointed when it became clear he was set on being OC and trying to run the ULL offense in the SEC and I still think it is going to be his biggest mistake. Hopefully I'm wrong and his offense will pop and I'll gladly eat crow. But I think more likely he will probably have a change of heart after spending a season in the league and make the change to being only HC before next year.

Our defense played MORE THAN well enough to win, and UK definitely did no physically "beat" our defense. We pressured Levis heavily in the first half, and completely shut UK down. We were an AR pick away from going into half time with a 16-7 lead in the worst case scenario. UK's one "legitimate" first half TD was on a "caught" jump ball pass, which I would argue was defended about as well as could be expected.

Even though our offense was almost non-existent in the second half, the defense still only gave up 13 points. And that's after we tried to gift them points by turning the ball over on downs twice inside our own 40-yard line.

I would agree with you for the most part that UK "physically beat" our offense however. We were not able to establish a consistent rushing attack like we did against Utah. I think we should have tried harder to establish the running game, but that's not what happened. Despite our anemic running game, we still averaged more yards per carry than UK, (4.5 vs 4 ypc.) and that's even with the sack yardage taken out of the calculations. However, it did feel like UK's DL dominated our OL for much of the game.

We lost this game because of two horrible picks thrown by Richardson, and the fact that the offense could not overcome their mistakes and find a way to score points.

Football is almost always a game of inches and a couple of mistakes separating 2 equally talented teams.....Here's the problem....in the last calendar year this group of players(95%the same as last year) has managed to go 2-7 in the conference including 2 losses to UK and absolute man handlings by USCe and Mizzou, managed to lose to the worst LSU team in the last 25 years, struggle with a D3 school on Senior Day and skate by a terrible FSU team at home.....then get physically beat by an in state "lesser" school who was having to use a 4th string walk on QB....Most of those games had a couple of mistakes too....starting to see a pattern?

We're just not that talented.

You could be right. My point is it's way too early to know.

This is our QB - I can't see Franks or AJ doing this.

He gets a mulligan for KY.

Probably winter rules too.

Wouldn't it be great to have to listen to UT claiming victory in advance (even more than usual) and then having AR go off completely in their house? Their defense is awful, it could be done. Part of me wonders if AR would feel LESS pressure on the road, with everyone in the stands hating him.

A few more games like KY and he can have that at home too.
