I feel good about any win. Rather win and have a ton to work on with a new coach than lose
Ugly...and a win. The w is all that matters.Well that was inexcusable I don’t post much, but that was ugly.
You know the kids on the other side of the ball played their hearts out, right? And that team has a lot of Florida talent, right? We won because we never gave up and the running back slashed the defense. We don't have any elite wide receivers and if AR is healthy then someone has been pouring honey on the field.
When is the last time we've seen "Florida football." What even is that now? That's long gone. We're in a ground up rebuild due to dorky danI’m not saying a w isn’t a w, I’m just saying that was way more luck than it should have been. This is not Florida football.
We'll probably blow UT out.
Given how all over the place this team is? I honestly wouldn't be shockedWe'll probably blow UT out.
Preface: I’m mildly wine-drunk.
It’s very important that we set emotions aside and step back and look at the big picture. There are countless examples of growing pains in the first year of a new regime (Saban, Kirby, etc.). Knee-jerk reactions that say “Fire Napier” after game three make us as a fan base look incredibly stupid.
I’m 1000% convinced that AR is playing through a knee injury. Our LBs were playing high school a year ago. The offensive scheme is VERY different from what we were running a year ago. (Montrell needs 3x the carries that he’s getting. He understands how to run behind a zone blocking scheme. It’s actually incredibly fun to watch him sit back and wait for the hole to develop.)
Give it some time. Accept that growing pains are normal (albeit painful). Judge after year 2-3. Any judgements after year 1 are wildly premature.
Ugly...and a win. The w is all that matters.
I was 100% against Napier. And I was 100% stupid. He’s building a program. Process over instant gratification.Personally I like Napier, I saw check downs open for 5-6 yards. That’s what wins ball games. Not the unnecessary “play making” throws.
Then what would you suggest? Would a loss have been better tonight? This is why we are and have not been a player on the national scene for going on 15 years. Quality of play is what matters over time. We luck up for whatever reason a year here or there like with Butters when the East sucked, but even Ray Charles could see the product.
The result does not matter. We are going nowhere anyway this year or probably next. Give me a staff that makes the right decisions regardless of the talent. Then what would you suggest? Would a loss have been better tonight?
