You may remember him from the Vanderbilt game where he caught a deep pass on a post and was nearly run down by an injured defensive tackle.

Wish him the best, but we are ok, especially with what we have coming in. You can see an emphasis on speed over size, which is the exact opposite of what we’d been prioritizing. Seems like a good kid, but these are the types of portal entries that, if his own doing, could really backfire. There’s something like 1500 kids right now who’ve walked away from scholarships and ended their playing careers.
Didn't he also drop a pass that hit him in the face in the endzone? I've been hammered most of the season and try to erase most games from memory.

I actually stopped watching after we failed following Marshall’s INT late. So I’ll say sure.

Did he ever even play a down in live action? Wasn’t he a 5*? WTF?
He played in a few blowouts this year... late in the 4th. He seemed pretty fast and shifty. I suspect he foesnt put the effort in during practice? He was a 5 star transfer from Miami.

He had only 10 carries but looked good and was quite productive. 75 yards and touchdown, no fumbles. He’s a talented player so this is a loss. I hope he doesn’t end up on a rival.

Lingard ran tough but buried behind 2 others. I really liked the kid but wasn’t going to crack the rotation. I hope he finds a great spot and does well.

A loss? A loss of what, a 3rd string running back?

This is my thought as well. Liked him. Seemed to buy in and accept that he had to work harder. Just don't think it was enough.

I liked his running, but hard to say if it would have translated during meaningful game time.

Wish him well with his UF degree and last chance to find a place to actually play football rather than watch football from the sidelines.

Loss of depth. RBs get hit most downs and have one of the highest injury rates including season ending injuries like acl tears. You need more than 2 RB and at his age he is going to be better and more ready than a freshman.

Losing talented players is never a good thing but it’s not unexpected. If he stays healthy he is probably going to be very productive wherever he lands and is going to have multiple options as far as landing spots.

Our best backs were a freshman and a sophomore this year so that right there negates everything you just said.

If he was really THAT talented he would have played more, he didn't at Miami, didn't here under Mullen who rotated RBs all the time and didn't under Napier who ended up playing a true freshman over him. He will land at a G5 program where he will be fine at.

We also not only have a junior in MJ coming back but a sophomore in Ete coupled with Webb and Fletcher, if we don't land Fletcher we will grab a portal RB....think youre way overselling the value of our 3rd/4th string running back had

Not overvaluing, just liked what I saw in his limited opportunities this year and like having experience, talent and age on the roster. I’m certainly not saying it’s some devastating loss. I just would rather have kept him than picking through the portal.

MJ came from the portal; just saying.

Truth be told, I think we get two backs out of the HS ranks so it's not going really matter tbh

He didn’t come from the portal. Napier took ULL’s best two players, plain and simple. And somehow the media still gave him the ahh shucks, he didn’t pilfer the roster when he left lol. No, just the only 2 SEC caliber players lol. I was all for it of course.

I agree. I would rather have kept him then to see him go, but he was never going to see the field here outside of multiple injuries ahead of him.
This is one of the portal cases where the player is making a smart move. Honestly, this goes back to McElwain and his not recruiting him initially. He never wanted to go to miami, and was sort of an outcast most of his time there, in part because many felt he was really wanting to be a Gator. Had he been entrenched here from day 1, I think his story might have turned out differently. In any event, I wish him well.
