Are the Atlanta Braves the best team in baseball?

As a lifelong Rangers fan - I expected nothing less. Just like our one trip to the world series...one out away in game 6 and lost the whole thing.
I used to root for that team as well and went with my dad to a few games; then they moved to Texas. :weep:

It is a best of three - and the Rays can't field that poorly next game - and the Rangers' bullpen is garbage - so there is no reason to count this series over.
It's over. This is the same rays from last year. They can't hit in the postseason. Even if they win tomorrow civale is trash

Their manager is also an arrogant loser. The rays are built to win a marathon, they suck at sprints

Not really anything to be proud of. Only two of them make the playoffs in the AL. Marlins would be 4th in AL east and would miss the playoffs. The NL East has one great team, one good team, one mediocre team who overachieved and two awful teams

Now it's not near as bad as rhe AL central. The twins suck and they would suck more if they weren't graunteed 13 games with 4 losing teams.
A legitimate gripe before the wildcards.
Plenty of chances to get in now.

At this point with the rays proving they are the same team as last year and breaking a 104 year old record for lowest playoff attendence Im ready for the team to leave. I've had it. This front office will NEVER do what it takes to win a ring.

Don't you think you are overreacting just a tad? You almost won it in 2020...you get to the playoffs almost every year with one of, if not the lowest payrolls in baseball....

And outside of 2020 and 2008 they are basically the twins. They don't win in the playoffs, they get bounced in the first round. They are built for regular season success and never do what is needed at the trade deadline to improve their weaknesses

First thing that needs to happen is Cash needs to be fired. Immediately. I've wanted him fired since pulling snell early in the 2020 world series. The man does not know how to manage a pitching staff.

The second thing that needs to happen is the rays need to spend more money. They are built to win in the regular season. But they cannot beat these superstar laden teams in short series when the chips are down. The A's tried it with moneyball. never worked. We've had two small market teams win since 2004, and one of them had to sell their whole future to do it (royals). Look at the two teams in this series. the rangers went out and got players to address their weaknesses. The rays changed almost nothing from last year and at the deadline did absolutely nothing to improve.

Third: SELL THE FUCHSING TEAM STU STERNBERG.

I don't know if the braves are the best but I'll tell you who the hottest team is in baseball right now and it's not even close. The phils.

That lineup is murdering the ball top to bottom right now and the pitching is lights out. Ain't nobody want that team right now.

It feels like Deja Vu...last year we win 100+, Phils get in as a WC and beat us...we are clearly the better team and beat them 8 out of 13 during the season but like you said sometimes it's about who's hott...G1 will be big because you know we will have to face Wheeler and Nola in G2 and G3

I'm not ready to say we win, but if I were a braves fan right now I'd be getting reeeeal nervous.

The last 3 game series they played (18-20 Sep) was in Atlanta and phils took 2 of 3 in dominant fashion. I was there for game 1.

Get Ready

Oh yeah...I watched every game....we shoulda won the series though...if I recall in G3 the winning run got hosed at home in the 9th and we lost in extras...but either way yes I will definitely be nervous....we have the better team but our pitching is what will determine our fate

Why does baseball abandon the seedings in the division round? The #1 team (Braves) should be playing the lowest seeded advancing team (DBacks). Why do they pair division rivals by rule over seedings instead? The #4 team often as not is going to be the second best and first hottest team in the league.

If they start with seedings, they should stick with it.
