Completely disagree in the interest thing. Goose Malzahn would take it in a heartbeat. Rhett Lashlee in a heartbeat. Regarding the teams you mentioned struggling going forward I would include UF in that group. You alluded to difficulty but we are no better than any of them.
Gus already got washed out at Barn....he loves UCF and I believe it will be his last stop in coaching....a lot more room to go up at UCF than the pig slop trough that is Arky

A little.....

The reality is Arky is f vcked from a regional standpoint recruiting wise as well as money/facilities, fanbase and such. Every great once in a while(about every 5-6 years) they would amass enough experienced talent to win 7-8 games like the 2 years Bert did it and Petrino as well as Pittman last year....

The problem with that is NOBODY is willing to suck balls 4 outta every 5 years just to say "hey, we made it to a bowl game and were about the 8th best team in the conference.

Money is not really an issue at ARK. Jerruh just sells a smidgen of a smidge of his Cowboys ownership if the Hogs need another 8 or 9 figures in chump change. And on occasion the Walton Family throws them a few peanuts.

I think Oregon St. was one of the few teams from the dissolving PAC 12 that couldn’t find a home in a new conference. That may have a lot to do with his decision to leave.

I agree with this. The Pac 12 has disintegrated and the amount of Revenue sharing from the Big 10 Network and other networks makes the Mich St. job very enticing. Regardless of being able to win or not, Mich St. is a much better job than any of the remaining homeless Pac 12 schools.

The Oregon State job is better than the Michigan State job.

Neither are great. I’d say Msu is slightly better, especially with the conference issue. But I do agree that it’s not enough of an uptick to leave your alma mater and the stability you’ve created. He’s a solid coach and could do better than just another little brother program. I’d wait if I were him. Remember though, most of these guys aren’t very smart.

Why? That’s a perfect spot for him. Low expectations. Can’t be held accountable for poor recruiting with 4ft of snow at the door. Inside games. Plus he’ll be an occasional thorn in the side of ACC teams like fsu. I love the move. What I wonder is does this help us with the offset in what we owe him?
Upstate NY in the winter.

He’s from New Hampshire. He’s not getting hired at a P5 school in a no-state income tax state(maybe Baylor or TxTch) because he sucks. And he coached at Miss State.
He'll be one of those people that live in NH for the taxes, "commute" to Syracuse... like Delta pilots who fly outta Boston.

To date, I agree with you. I’m curious what teams Oregon State is going to play next season and beyond, though, so I’m unsure how good a job it will be 3-4 years out.
