I am surprised that all the "major" schools in Florida, Gators, Canes, South Florida, Central Florida (especially the Knights), etc. aren't causing more of a rukus because of DeSantis wanting to sue because FSU didn't get into the playoffs. I mean, UCF went undefeated in 2017 and even have a National Championship banner hanging in their stadium even though they weren't invited into the playoffs. Why didn't the governor at the time try to sue to get them in? And if DeSantis is going to spend a million $$ on FSU, why not give every other major school the same amount? I mean, it's just tax dollars...

The committe has had FSU in the top 4 every week, until now. How does them winning a conference title all of a sudden make it clear to them they're no longer a top 4 team?

The answer is because the committee votes based on the results on the field, until the very last week, when they need to manipulate the rankings in order to get the matchups that they want.

No other program, but Alabama, would jump an undefeated P5 team with 1 loss on their resume. Texas is only a playoff team because the committee had no choice. In order to get Bama in they had to put Texas in. Had Georgia won on Saturday, Texas would not be in the playoffs.

It's not even about who they think the 4 best teams are either, because then Georgia would be in the playoffs. Throughout the entire history of college football, when it comes down to the final vote before the bowl games, it has never been about the results on the field or anyone's opinion on what the top 2 or 4 teams are. It's about what benefits the powers that be the most.

It couldn't possibly be because fsu looked like ass their last 2 games..................

Every one of the 4 CFP teams has a big time win.

Mich beat OSU and PSU

Alabama beat the 2 time defending NC riding a 29 game winning streak

UW beat Oregon twice.

Tx beat Bama

fsu beat ......................................... Louisville? LSU. Lousiville got smoked by a 3-5 SEC UK. LSU was first game of the year with a raw QB. Hell, UF pt 35 points on LSU.

AND,

with a CFP berth on the line, they managed 16 points against..................Lousiville, a team that gave up 38 to UK the week prior in a rivalry game.

They just aren't that good.

I have a lot of fsu friends having grown up in the Panhandle of FL. Not a single on of them is complaining about being one of the 4 best teams in the country, but ARE complaining they are left out despite undefeated P5 conference champ. The claim is they "deserve" to be there, not that they are one of the best 4.

So here is a challenge. You get to pick ONE of the following SIX teams that could win the CFP or you take a .44 magnum round to the face. Who would it be?

Personally, my bet would be UGA. Winning 29 straight is damn impressive and they were bound to drop one sooner or later. They have 3-4 weeks to get healthy and are the most complete team imo.

FSU has looked like ass from the very beginning of their program, so why are they ever ranked at all? Phuck them.

Unlike you, I do think they're top 25, but reasonable people can disagree on that one. Whether Bama should be there or not is a separate issue. The bottom line is FSU didn’t belong and the committee got that part right. Whining about Bama is what clown fans are doing. It avoids the obvious.

FTR - I actually expect Bama to beat Meatchicken and Texas and win another title. Don’t want it to happen; just think it will.

That game #1 win over LSU was impressive but gave them too much run. They should have slid out of the top 4 as their close wins against crappy ACC teams - MANY OF WHICH WERE MISSING THEIR QBs - mounted up while other teams got better and picked up big wins.
