More NFL writers weigh in on Driskel saying that he was a "standout" at Wednesday practice. Now Brissett is getting into the act saying his strength and presence allow him to fight off defenders and NFL execs are heading to the tape room. Maybe all our former QBs should have a separate thread.

I can't stand the Driskel haters. He WAS a class act here at Florida and never got into any legal trouble that I recall of, and gave his all for the fighting orange and blue every night despite the worst coach in history. God bless the young man and let him succeed in life, whatever that might be!

It's true but he always looked like a retard with a deer in headlights presence. Maybe he learned and got out of his PTSD

During the Vandy game (the first home game I've been to in over 5 years) I sat there wondering if Driskel could be doing any better. I don't see how Driskel could have been any worse than Harris was the last 5 games of the season.

He was one of the laziest sob. Too lazy to watch film, too lazy to work out. Fat by the time he was a junior. Had to have the coaches force him to lose wait and force him to attend workouts. An entitled lazy azz who transferred the second he wasn't guaranteed the starting job.

It's sad because he has all the tools, but he just didn't care. The few times he played decent teams this year he sucked too and turned the ball over continually, like always. If Tony Petersen couldn't fix him, I doubt anyone can.

He may just be too damn dumb to play any better. If so, I guess I owe him an apology but that is only a portion of the issue. Erik Kresser was no brain surgeon. I have little tolerance for lazy people.

I hope the Jags or Bucs sign him. They deserve each other.

Law, sometimes you claim Mac ran him off and sometimes you claim he left on his own. Which is it? And channeling rog, I will point out that if he had been coached him to lose a little more " wait", he might have got the pass off before being sacked.

Driskel wanted the guarantee, just like Grier. Mac instead encouraged him to explore other options bc we would support him. Div says Driskel had already made up his mind, I suspect that is true also.

He was quite shocked however to find that even ACC and Big Least teams had no interest in him. :loser:

At least in Louisiana he can get a jumpstart on his professional fisherman career.

Again, if this kid makes a buck as a QB your freakin' head will explode. You're so wrong about this sh!t yet you're writing about it as if you were a fly on the wall. I can tell you again and again that most of this is a bunch of crap but it will never convince you. Driskel wanted to stay and play for Florida but after the Missouri game his mind was made up that the place had gotten toxic and he had to leave. His confidence was at an all time low and he didn't see his prospects getting any better. He in no way shape or form demanded to anyone that he be guaranteed to start or he would leave. Period. Believe it or don't I don't care. But you've been wrong about his work ethic, you're wrong about his physical condition (I saw him at the gym at various times throughout his time at Florida including the summer before his last season and he was anything but fat) and it looks like you may be wrong about his NFL chances.

You really have to ask yourself why you hate this kid so much. It's not normal.

He will make a buck and I promise not to explode. I'm sure he will at least get a FA. Hell, Jeff George lasted for years on the big arm alone.

I see I fired up the other Driskel relative.

Tony Petersen really likes him, too.

I'm pretty sure you made this entire thing up.

Here's the way I look at it:

When playing on the same team behind the same offensive line with 4 nfl draft picks, the same nfl running backs and the same wide receivers, true freshman Treon was obviously better than redshirt junior Driskel.

Fast forward a year and Treon has to play behind one of the worst lines in school history. I don't know if you guys watched the AFC championship game, but freaking Tom Brady completed fewer than 50% of his passes with more interceptions than touchdowns when his line couldn't block a 3 man front. Well that's how our line looked even against terrible teams like FAU.

Meanwhile Driskel goes off to play pop Warner football, has an okay year and suddenly everyone thinks that he's the better player.

Like most here I wish Driskel the best, but I think it's a reach to say he'd have been the difference maker for us this year.

I love when someone explains how dumb another person is, but then they use a term like "lose wait." Was he in a waiting room? :lmao2:
For all the Driskel haters, he posted way better numbers that Brissett this year. More yards and more TD's.

Do you expect Driskel to be drafted ahead of Brissett?
