Serious question: If there isn't much talent there, how are they competing at such a high level in Florida?

So AJ McCarron...another weak armed QB who had 5* talent around him that made him acceptable....

That doesn't excite me. That doesn't make us any better.

After watching him, I'm not excited either. Franks potential, because of his athleticism and arm talent, gets me excited. He is the kind of guy that could dominate a football game. I don't see that in Allen. I see the potential for a future AJ McCarron or some other QB like that. A solid starter, but nothing special. If Mac recruits the position well the next couple of years, assuming he is still at UF, then I don't see Allen ever seeing the field. I hope I'm wrong. This staff's ability to assess talent bothers me.

McCarron won 3 NCs. If Mac is trying to emulate how those teams were built, And Allen is a clone, then maybe it'll work out. Big if obviously.

His numbers are so low this year because he never plays the second half because they're blowing everyone out. Ive seen him play twice. He looked like a stud one game and a bum in the other. I don't think he's the savior but I could see him being a solid qb if got to come in as a rsjunior and was brought along right. At worst it wouldn't be terrible to have this kid as depth for a few years. Not to mention how pro gator hes been ans it seemed like he was always driving other prospects to our home games. I'm glad were getting him.

Just finished 10 minutes of tape on him, the first I've seen. He doesn't throw a pretty ball, but he gets it to the receiver with accuracy and a fair amount of zip. Throws off his back foot occasionally, even without pressure, which he'll need to change. I can see why Stidham is higher rated, but at this stage you really don't know. Allen wants to be here, and that's half the battle.

@GrahamHall_: St. Thomas Aquinas is rolling. @Jakeallen_14 with a 10-yard touchdown pass, his 4th of the night, puts Raiders up 37-6 on Plant.
